What you'll doDevelopment of innovative antenna designs to advance the art of satellite communications. Significant involvement with antenna components, waveguide arrays, waveguide structures, reflector antennas and feeds. Performs design, analysis, modeling, and testing of various types of antenna systems and components. Impels designs forward from the conceptual drawing board into the implementation of building and testing the finished product. Works with cross functional teams in a dynamic environment to achieve the product design goals as well as meeting cost and schedule targets.
The day-to-dayOn a typical day, you'll spend time running electromagnetic simulations, reviewing antenna performance data, troubleshooting hardware and test results, collaborating with mechanical, RF, and systems engineers, and participating in technical design reviews. You'll work alongside experienced antenna engineers to mature designs, support laboratory measurements, document results, and help drive products through development, integration, and test.
What you'll need- 5+ Years of Antenna design experience with satellite communications antenna systems (reflectors and arrays desired).
- BS Electrical Engineering (MS Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Proficient with analytical & programming tools (e.g., HFSS, TICRA, Mathcad, Matlab, etc.).
- Interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written) and effective in a team environment working across divisional boundaries.
- Ability to work independently and with coordinated group design activities.
- Experience with Antenna Design for manufacturing
- Experience generating specifications for RF components and antenna feed networks
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required
- Experience developing ground based antenna systems for satellite access nodes (LEO, MEO, and GEO).
- Experience developing “space based on board” satellite antenna systems.
- Hands-on design experience through laboratory testing and system measurement
- Experience supporting business development with design schedules, and cost estimates
- Experience designing X, Ku, Ka and Q/V-band optics, reflectors, phased arrays, and Feeds
$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annually
