Position Overview
The AI Factory Compute & IT Infrastructure Architect will serve as a global technical authority for compute, networking, storage, memory, and IT infrastructure architecture within Siemens' AI Factory organization. The role will track how AI, hyperscale, cloud, HPC, and enterprise platforms are evolving and convert those changes into actionable AI Factory reference architectures and go-to-market guidance. The successful candidate will bring practical experience building or architecting large-scale compute, network, and storage environments and enough data-center fluency to translate upstream IT decisions into clear implications for power, cooling, controls, physical topology, resiliency, and deployment strategy. A critical responsibility is to partner with electrical, thermal/liquid cooling, controls & automation, digital thread, and regional Solutions Architects, rack density, cluster topology, network fabrics, storage architecture, and workload behavior are accurately reflected in the complete AI Factory architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for AI, HPC, cloud, and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
- Evaluate emerging processor, accelerator, networking, memory, and storage technologies and assess their impact on AI Factory designs.
- Develop scalable reference architectures spanning compute, storage, networking, racks, clusters, and data hall environments.
- Translate IT infrastructure requirements into actionable inputs for electrical, cooling, controls, and facility design teams.
- Partner with customers, hyperscalers, enterprises, and technology partners on infrastructure strategy and architecture planning.
- Develop technical guidance, architecture frameworks, and thought leadership content supporting sales and go-to-market initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in compute infrastructure, networking, storage, cloud, HPC, enterprise systems, or hyperscale environments.
- 5+ years in architecture, principal engineering, technical leadership, or equivalent roles.
- Proven experience designing or architecting large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Experience with AI infrastructure, accelerated computing, HPC, hyperscale, or high-density data centers.
- Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30-50%.
Technical Expertise
- Large-scale compute, AI, HPC, cloud, or hyperscale infrastructure environments.
- Server, CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures.
- AI training and inference platforms.
- Data center networking including Ethernet, InfiniBand, RoCE, and AI fabrics.
- Enterprise and high-performance storage architectures.
- Linux, virtualization, containers, and distributed systems.
- Rack-level infrastructure, power, cooling, and high-density deployments.
- Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into scalable architecture strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep expertise in compute, HPC, networking, AI infrastructure, hyperscale systems, or a related domain.
- Broad knowledge across compute, networking, storage, and data center infrastructure.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to translate technology trends into business and architectural value.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
- Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technologies into actionable architectural decisions.
- Innovation mindset with a passion for learning emerging technologies and industry trends.

The pay range for this position is $137,000.00 - $222,000.00 annually with a target incentive of 10 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
