AI Business Solutions
We are seeking an experienced Copilot Cloud Solution Architect to serve as a trusted advisor and technical leader for Microsoft's strategic Retail & Consumer Goods customers.
As a Copilot Cloud Solution Architect, you will help customers achieve measurable business outcomes with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork, Work IQ, and agents built on Copilot Studio, grounded in a secure and well-governed Microsoft 365 estate. You will proactively identify customer challenges, translate business requirements into prioritized Copilot scenarios and agent solutions, and drive deployment, active usage, adoption, and expansion across the customer's organization.
This role requires deep technical expertise across Microsoft 365 and the Copilot portfolio, strong executive communication skills, customer-centric leadership, and the ability to lead virtual teams across Microsoft, partner organizations, and customer stakeholders. The Copilot Cloud Solution Architect serves as both a customer advocate and a transformation leader, helping organizations prepare their data and tenant for AI, embed Copilot into everyday work, and accelerate measurable business value realization.
Responsibilities
- Be a trusted advisor and drive business value through AI Transformation: Create business value by translating customer challenges into prioritized Copilot and agent scenarios aligned to high ROI customer outcomes. Ensure a seamless, connected experience that fosters satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term value.
- Drive Customer Success: Lead architectural design, engaging with business and technical decision makers to drive intent and enable sustained usage of M365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork, Work IQ, and Agents, securing long-term customer success and renewal.
- Leverage Agentic AI: Use Copilot prompt engineering and Agent-building expertise to drive AI at scale.
- Explore growth opportunities: Partner with technical and sales teams to identify opportunities and develop tailored Copilot and agent solutions that drive seat deployment, active usage, and business value realization.
- Accelerate Customer AI Transformation Journey: Engage in relevant communities to share expertise, contribute to IP creation, prioritize IP re-use, and learn from others to help accelerate your customer's Copilot and agent transformation journey.
- Embrace a growth mindset: Act as the voice of the customer by proactively sharing insights, feedback, and success stories to inform internal strategy and execution.
- Learn-it-all: Demonstrate a self-learner mindset through continuous, self-directed learning in areas such as M365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork, Work IQ, Agents, business value realization, and adoption and change management. Build and maintain technical readiness aligned to Customer Success Unit (CSU) priorities and corporate initiatives.
Business Impact
Proactively identifies and anticipates new opportunities to expand Microsoft 365 Copilot seat deployment, Copilot Cowork and Work IQ usage, and agent adoption at scale, based on business value to the customer/partner and a clear understanding of the Microsoft value proposition for the Copilot portfolio: empowering employees with AI in the flow of work, strengthening data security and compliance posture, and driving responsible AI innovation. Strategically consults with, actively listens to, and respectfully challenges customers/partners, building trust to then advocate for alternative Copilot scenarios, agent designs, and adoption approaches that shape and/or enhance customer requirements. Identifies, anticipates, and evaluates industry trends, gathers customer/partner insights (e.g., feedback around use cases, tenant and data environments, business needs, competitive landscape), and maps both proven and novel Copilot and agent scenarios to customer/partner business outcomes. Proactively anticipates and captures opportunities in appropriate systems, processes, and tools, working collaboratively across the organization to execute on opportunities aligned with Microsoft's Customer Engagement Model.
Operates according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all engagement stages/activities/tools of record (e.g., pipeline updates, usage reporting, time tracking). Orchestrates and collaborates across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve customer/partner objectives and increase customer/partner satisfaction. Proactively anticipates and manages business and technical risks, adapts methodology and applies responsible AI and data governance principles to identify, communicate, and minimize business and technical risks. Executes work in compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines and procedures. Continuously prioritizes among competing demands in their work and identifies where impact occurs with customers, ensuring alignment with business priorities and goals.
Delivers solutions in line with company methodologies (e.g., product offerings such as value-based deliverables [VBDs], Copilot readiness and scenario discovery workshops, advice, training, technical validation), ensuring proven practices and patterns are followed to prepare complex customers for operational readiness and achievement of their business goals and targets. Leveraging knowledge of adoption and change management proven practices and/or involving the change management team, proactively helps the customer establish a Copilot Center of Excellence, champion program, and communications plan that sustain long-term organizational adoption, increase customer satisfaction, and grow active usage. Guides complex customers/partners towards a well-architected Copilot estate (e.g., secure, compliant, responsibly governed) with data and identity foundations that scale, increasing retention and expansion opportunities. Articulates the value of Unified and supports sellers, partnering with account teams to build consumption and adoption plans aligned with Copilot and agent engagements. Provides feedback to the Unified Delivery Team on VBDs to refine and further develop Copilot content.
Customer Centricity
Proactively identifies and/or translates customer/partner problems into industry-relevant Copilot and agent scenarios aligned with Microsoft product and platform strategy, creates or improves an existing business model, and explains why and/or how they meet customer/partner outcomes and ROI goals (e.g., via scenario discovery workshops, proof of concept, minimally viable agent, rapid prototype in Copilot Studio) relative to competitive offerings. Proactively helps the customer/partner accelerate deployment, adoption, and habitual use of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork, Work IQ, and agents. Builds relationships with, and provides direction to technical decision makers (TDMs) up to the C-suite level, and builds the bridge between TDMs and business decision makers (BDMs). Leads and elevates interactions as needed with customers/partners' Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Chief Data Officer (CDO), and other C-level (CXO) roles to build confidence in AI trust and governance and to bridge understanding of security, compliance, operational and risk requirements across BDMs, TDMs, CIO, CDO and CISO teams, appropriately engaging additional subject matter experts when deeper expertise is required.
Proactively acts as the voice of the customer/partner, sharing ideas, feedback, insights, success stories and strategic/technical input on Copilot and agent experiences with Engineering teams, Product Offerings teams and internal communities, leveraging relevant insights from feedback tools and systems. Identifies and aggregates patterns of feedback across customers/partners/territories/industries, including unmet scenario needs, agent extensibility gaps, and data governance friction, and leverages them with relevant industry perspective to develop strategic and actionable insights. Presents business cases to program managers to advocate for and influence Copilot product roadmaps, decision making, and bug fix prioritization, and owns and drives initiatives as appropriate.
Drives self and guides other team members to focus on customer/partner experience through efficient delivery and ensuring a seamless and connected Copilot experience from tenant readiness through everyday use. Drives the realization of customer/partner conditions of success by leveraging an understanding of customer goals and the usage and business value measures agreed with them. Anticipates, addresses, and leads customer confidence calls to resolve customer/partner dissatisfaction and unmet needs, and creates and executes strategies to improve customer experience, value realization, and acceleration of AI transformation.
Partner Specialization
Identifies and directs attention to multiple, strategic Copilot and agent opportunities (e.g., launch deals, seat expansion, agent build engagements) that align with revenue goals, and orchestrates growth of the solution utilization pipeline with partners. Leads assistance with partner and sales teams to bring clarity to specific, complex opportunities through scenario discovery, proof of concept, and technical pre-sales support.
Understands and anticipates market opportunities specific to Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents (e.g., competitor AI assistant and agent platform insights) and proactively leads initiatives to address them by supporting, assembling, and leading a v-team. Influences, challenges, and supports partners in developing scalable Copilot offerings, adoption and change management practices, agent accelerators, and solutions, and in investing and adopting new AI technologies at the scale of the customer. May maintain relationships with non-technical senior stakeholders (e.g., sales) within the partner to understand their business model. Maintains active visibility in Copilot and AI communities both to build credibility in internal/partner work and information sharing (e.g., technical updates, public facing roadmap) and to influence partners. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, sales) to provide field-based insights related to Copilot and agent products and solutions, including their functioning, pricing, licensing, and packaging.
Technical Leadership
Leverages market insights and demand signals to assist leadership in identifying relevant areas in which to drive up-skilling and/or accreditations across Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and agents, and adoption and change management. Role models technical readiness, both depth-aligned to Copilot and agent priorities and breadth-aligned to CSU/corporate initiatives (e.g., security, compliance, responsible AI), and influences the team to drive their own technical readiness. Acts as a mentor, leading readiness and upskilling activities in the team/organization by educating colleagues on technical and non-technical concepts and sharing proven Copilot practices.
Leads, mentors, and may assemble virtual teams around Copilot technologies and customer/partner challenges, sharing ideas, insights, and strategic, technical input with technical teams, internal communities across the field, and the larger teams across Microsoft, using knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Copilot architectures and their context in the competitive landscape. Demonstrates deep industry knowledge and drives recognition for Microsoft solutions by leading presentations and engagements with external and internal audiences (e.g., Tech Connect, Build, Ignite). Contributes to and collaborates on intellectual property and proactively identifies patterns where no IP exists (e.g., Copilot scenarios, agent designs, adoption playbooks) to help build scalable and repeatable models. Participates in and leads external technical and non-technical community events (e.g., conferences, seminars, technical meetups, webcasts, blogs, hackathons) that elevate Microsoft's leadership in AI at work.
Proactively identifies and anticipates gaps through delivery, communicates those gaps to and influences relevant team members and internal/external stakeholders, and connects gaps and patterns across business and technology areas that drive changes and improvements to products, intellectual property (IP) (both existing and new), technologies, and/or processes and practices that enable Copilot and agent solutions to scale across customers. Develops and contributes to modifications of Microsoft's structured frameworks and methodologies for Copilot readiness, adoption, and value measurement. Proactively provides thought leadership and innovation to customers/partners and internal communities at the worldwide level.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in cloud, Microsoft 365, and AI technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, collaboration and productivity platforms, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting.
- 4+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
- 4+ years experience leading technical projects.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Cowork, Work IQ, Copilot Studio and agents, Microsoft 365 and Modern Work, adoption and change management, and data security and compliance readiness (e.g., Microsoft Purview, SharePoint and data hygiene, tenant readiness), with Azure and AI Foundry as supporting expertise. Deep technical expertise, strong executive communication skills, customer-centric leadership.
- Microsoft 365, Copilot, and AI-relevant certifications (e.g., MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator, Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI certifications, Microsoft Copilot Studio), with cloud and security certifications considered a plus.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $96,000 - CAD $177,600 per year.
