About the role

As an AI and Automation Engineer, Lead in our Rearward Deployed Engineering (RDE) group, you will embed with an existing corporate-function team to understand how work gets done and deliver practical AI, automation and integration solutions. You will build trust, ask incisive questions, present ideas clearly and take solutions from discovery through production and continuous improvement. Assignments may include Marketing, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Human Resources, Legal, Product, Operations or Technology.

Your key responsibilities

• Discover: Embed with business teams, build effective working relationships, observe work and ask the right questions to identify high-value opportunities, process constraints, data-quality issues and desired outcomes.

• Design: Translate business needs into secure, scalable solution designs that use the appropriate combination of deterministic automation, integrations, AI assistants or agents, durable workflows and human decision-making.

• Build: Create AI-enabled workflows, applications, APIs and integrations using approved enterprise technologies, and communicate prototypes, recommendations and technical trade-offs clearly to business and technical audiences.

• Operationalize: Test, deploy and support production solutions with appropriate attention to security, reliability, observability, data quality, maintainability, exception handling and operational ownership.

• Measure and improve: Establish baselines, measure outcomes such as cycle time, effort, quality, adoption and operating cost, and continuously improve delivered solutions using operational data and user feedback.

• Generalize: Turn successful solutions into reusable components, integration patterns, reference architectures and platform capabilities that accelerate future RDE engagements.

What you bring

• Strong programming or scripting skills, with experience working with APIs, structured data, system integrations and stateful or event-driven workflows.

• Excellent written, verbal and facilitation skills, with the ability to embed within an existing team, build trust, ask incisive questions, listen actively and present ideas, prototypes and technical trade-offs clearly.

• Strong problem-solving and delivery skills, with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders through ambiguity.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting corporate functions such as Marketing, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Human Resources, Legal, Product, Operations or Technology through automation and process improvement.

• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Microsoft Graph, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI or comparable enterprise technologies.

The impact you’ll make

You will turn emerging AI and automation capabilities into practical solutions that reduce repetitive effort, shorten cycle times and improve quality and reliability. By combining embedded discovery, hands-on engineering and reusable platform thinking, you will help corporate functions improve everyday work while enabling future RDE engagements to deliver value faster.
