Description and Requirements

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Manager to support the development and enhancement of global accounting policies, accounting governance, and processes across a multinational organization with a diverse global footprint.

This role will serve as a key partner to multiple finance teams within Lenovo’s WW accounting organization, IT, internal audit, and business teams worldwide to ensure consistent accounting practices, strong compliance, effective governance, and continuous process improvement.

In addition to traditional accounting responsibilities, the successful candidate will participate in the organization's AI transformation journey within Finance. This includes partnering with consultants and technology teams to identify, design, implement, and govern AI-enabled solutions that enhance accounting compliance, controls, monitoring, and process execution.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a continuous-improvement mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for leveraging technology and AI to transform finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Policy & Technical Accounting

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance global accounting policies and practices.
  • Drive consistent application of accounting policies across regions and business units.
  • Provide accounting consultation and support to global finance teams and business stakeholders.

Accounting Governance & Compliance

  • Support the design and enhancement of the global accounting governance framework. Establish and monitor compliance with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements.
  • Identify accounting, financial reporting, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Review and enhance accounting controls and related documentation.
  • Support governance reporting, policy communication, and finance compliance training programs.

AI Enablement & Transformation

  • Lead and support AI initiatives focused on accounting compliance, accounting controls, governance monitoring, and finance process execution.
  • Partner with external consultants, IT teams, data specialists, and finance stakeholders to design and implement AI-enabled solutions.
  • Translate accounting and compliance requirements into business requirements for AI and digital solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting activities and improve the effectiveness of financial controls through AI and automation technologies.
  • Support development and deployment of solutions for areas such as:
    • Compliance monitoring, Journal entry reviews, Account reconciliations, Transaction anomaly detection, Financial reporting and analytics, Control monitoring and testing
  • Participate in solution design, testing, validation, implementation, and post-deployment governance.

Process Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead process improvement and standardization initiatives. Analyze existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and governance materials.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable process enhancements.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including ERP enhancements and process digitization efforts.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders across Finance, IT, Internal Audit, Legal, Tax, Procurement, Operations, and business teams.
  • Manage projects and initiatives involving stakeholders located across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Facilitate discussions, resolve issues, and drive alignment among diverse teams.
  • Deliver training and communication materials related to accounting policies, governance standards, and AI-enabled processes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification required (ACCA, HKICPA, AICPA or equivalent).

Experience

  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, governance, controllership, audit, advisory, or finance transformation.
  • Experience gained through Big Four accounting firms and/or MNC
  • Experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, financial reporting, accounting governance, or controllership functions.
  • Experience working in a global organization with cross-border stakeholder management responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation, digitalization, automation, or AI-related initiatives is highly desirable.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of HKFRS / IFRS
  • Deep understanding of accounting governance, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing accounting policies and technical accounting documentation.
  • Ability to assess complex accounting issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of finance process design and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, data analytics, and digital finance tools is preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of:

  • Big Four audit, accounting advisory, or finance transformation experience.
  • Commercial experience in a multinational corporation.
  • Technical accounting and governance expertise.
  • Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, analytics, or digital finance programs.
  • Strong ability to bridge Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams.
