Role Headline
Plans and executes sales targets and activities in a specified region for the portfolio of a unit in order to increase sales with all kinds of potential customers and to achieve defined commercial targets.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets within municipalities, utilities, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, data centres, water and wastewater facilities, and private sector infrastructure projects.
- Identify, develop, and manage opportunities across the Smart Infrastructure portfolio, including Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Substation Automation, Protection Systems, Microgrids, Electrification Solutions, and After-Market Services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including municipal engineers, infrastructure managers, consulting engineers, developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and private sector decision-makers.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, investment plans, and infrastructure development opportunities within the region.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management through CRM systems.
- Prepare, coordinate, and negotiate technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with proposal management, engineering teams, and management.
- Drive the development of service and maintenance opportunities to grow the installed base and After-Market business.
- Coordinate the successful execution of awarded projects and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary commercial interface for assigned customers and foster collaboration across internal functions to ensure effective customer support.
- Promote digitalization, electrification, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure solutions aligned with customer business objectives.
- Complete all sales, market intelligence, and revenue-related reporting requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 2-4 years' relevant sales experience within the Smart Infrastructure portfolio, including Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, Substation Protection and Automation, Electrification Solutions, Renewable Energy eBoP, and After-Sales Services.
- Demonstrated experience in power distribution, municipal electrical infrastructure, industrial electrification, building technologies, utilities, grid modernization, and energy management solutions.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, consulting engineers, contractors, commercial developers, industrial customers, mining customers, water and wastewater facilities, or large private sector organizations will be advantageous.
- 2-4 years' experience in a sales, project management, consulting, or technical customer-facing environment.
- Understanding of municipal procurement processes, infrastructure planning cycles, and public-sector stakeholder engagement will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, electrification, distributed energy resources, battery storage, or grid modernization solutions will be advantageous.
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Preference will be given to applicants residing in the Western Cape Province.
