Academic Partnerships & Talent Development Lead
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Academic Partnerships Manager to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia. In this role, you will build and manage strategic partnerships with universities, faculty members, and academic leaders to help develop future talent pipelines in engineering and technology fields.
You will play a key role in designing educational initiatives, technical workshops, laboratory experiences, and simulation-based learning activities that allow students to acquire practical skills aligned with industry needs. This position requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage confidently with academic stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities, professors, researchers, and academic decision-makers.
- Identify, develop, and implement partnership opportunities with educational institutions.
- Design and coordinate technical learning experiences, workshops, simulations, and hands-on activities for students.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand current and future workforce skill requirements.
- Develop and execute outreach and engagement plans to increase collaboration with academic institutions.
- Promote programs that help prepare students for careers in engineering, automation, electrification, and industrial technologies.
- Support the creation of internship, trainee, and talent development initiatives.
- Drive marketing and communication activities related to academic engagement programs.
- Monitor partnership effectiveness and continuously improve program outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in university relations, academic partnerships, technical training, engineering education, talent development, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of engineering and industrial technologies.
- Networking and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence and build long-term relationships.
- Strong executive presence, confidence, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and organizations.
- Conversational English is desirable.
