Description
You will join a dynamic quality assurance team, responsible for functional and performance validation of Wi-Fi (and other Wireless technologies) features on iOS and other exciting products. You will be delivering a detailed connectivity user experience to our customers, across exciting product lines.
Responsibilities
- Crafting of test strategies using various test methodologies.
- Building test setups, automating test framework and test plans to ensure the best quality in Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Wi-Fi test plans based on feature specifications, software requirements, and inputs from development teams and senior management.
- Contribute to Apple’s Peer-to-Peer Technologies team, driving the maintenance and evolution of test plans, testbeds, and automation frameworks to enable robust validation of new and existing peer-to-peer features.
- Troubleshoot and debug wireless connectivity, performance, and roaming issues using protocol analyzers, packet sniffers, and specialized RF diagnostic tools.
- Develop and automate test cases using Python and other scripting languages; contribute to and enhance internally developed automation frameworks to ensure reliable execution, pass/fail reporting, and collection of detailed device logs.
- Build and manage Wi-Fi testbeds using access points, attenuators, switches, sniffers, and related networking equipment to execute functional, performance, and interoperability test scenarios.
- Analyze customer feedback and field-reported issues to identify test coverage gaps; collaborate with Quality and Development teams to close gaps through new test cases and expanded automation coverage.
Minimum Qualifications
- You have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across teams.
- You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing test strategies & executing it with automation or manual testing.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in 802.11 protocols and/or Bluetooth.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in SQA methodologies and practices.
- You have experience with scripting and automation - python preferred.
- You have experience in utilizing tools, including Wireless and Bluetooth packet sniffers and network protocol analyzers, to help resolve, root cause and provide debugging information to engineering teams.
