Meet the Team

Cisco’s Customer Experience (CX) organization is one of the company’s fastest-growing and most innovative teams, crafting a first-in-class digital experience for our customers and partners everywhere they connect with Cisco. Cisco IQ is a platform-centric to support the diverse requirements of the CX organization and is being built with emerging technologies including predictive AI and generative AI to drive additional customer success. We are at the epicenter of developing modern, cloud-native technologies that allow us to stay agile and adaptable in a constantly evolving market. Pioneers in our field, Cisco IQ enables customers to maximize value with a simple, unified Cisco experience, driving accelerated time to impact. We deliver on time with high quality & urgency, and we drive decisions with data and transparency while leading with ownership & accountability.

Your Impact

As a UI Automation - Software Engineer in CX, you will build and maintain automation solutions for UI and API testing across Cisco’s enterprise platforms, working within an established test framework and with guidance from senior engineers on complex or cross-team problems. Your work will focus on expanding test coverage, keeping automated suites reliable, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines so that quality signals reach the team early. You will also apply AI tooling to the testing problem itself, using generative AI to accelerate test creation and triage rather than treating automation as purely hand-written. Success in this role looks like independently owning automation for assigned features, reducing flaky and false-positive failures, and steadily raising coverage in the areas you support.

  • Develop and maintain UI and REST API automation tests using Playwright, Selenium, Pytest, and Python.

  • Execute and expand automated regression suites to improve product stability and release confidence.

  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Github Actions/workflows and scripting tools, applying SRE practices, so failures surface before release.

  • Build and integrate AI-assisted capabilities into the test workflow — for example, using LLM APIs to generate test cases, analyze failure patterns, or optimize suite execution.

  • Work with containerized environments using Docker for consistent test execution.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to identify test scenarios and improve automation coverage.

  • Troubleshoot automation failures and improve test reliability and performance.

  • Support testing across cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Build domain knowledge of Cisco infrastructure and products to design meaningful test scenarios across networking, cloud, and enterprise platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years or Master’s with 3+ years of software engineering experience, including 1 or more years of experience in UI and API automation testing.

  • Experience with Python and at least one automation framework/tool such as Playwright, Selenium, or Pytest, including troubleshooting and debugging automation failures.

  • Experience in developing with AI — building or integrating AI/ML or generative AI capabilities (for example, LLM APIs, prompt-based workflows, or model-driven features) into software, tooling, or test automation.

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and scripting, and executing tests in containerized environments (e.g., Docker).

  • Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing enterprise infrastructure, networking, or platform products (including Cisco technologies or comparable enterprise technologies).

  • Experience scaling or improving automation frameworks.

  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and API testing best practices.

  • Exposure to Kubernetes/Docker or infrastructure automation tools.

  • Experience in UI and backend software development is a plus.
