Technical Program Manager II, Amazon Leo Microsoft 365, Amazon Leo M365
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control : This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
As a TPM on Amazon Leo Microsoft 365 (ALM365), you'll drive the programs that let thousands of Amazon Leo engineers work securely under the most demanding compliance requirements in the industry.
We configure, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 productivity services (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) across Leo Controlled Environments for Leo Production Operations and Leo Government Solutions. In this role, you'll own the planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional programs spanning M365 tenant configuration, infrastructure deployments on AWS GovCloud, service migrations, and compliance automation — all under ITAR/EAR export control requirements.
You'll coordinate across engineering, security, identity, and operations teams to define scope, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks. This role rewards Bias for Action and Ownership: you'll make high-judgment tradeoffs, move programs forward through ambiguity, and deliver measurable outcomes without waiting for perfect information. The ideal candidate influences without authority and brings a technical foundation in enterprise IT infrastructure or cloud services.
Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of ALM365 programs from scoping through operational readiness, defining milestones and driving execution across engineering and operations teams
Coordinate cross-functional workstreams including identity management, infrastructure provisioning (AWS GovCloud), security compliance (FedRAMP), and M365 service configuration
Drive program governance: status reporting, dependency tracking, risk registers, and escalation paths for programs with hard compliance deadlines
Establish and maintain mechanisms (runbooks, templates, checklists) that improve delivery consistency and operational bar across KCE-Low and KCE-Mod environments
Partner with Security and Global Trade Compliance teams to ensure all program deliverables meet export control and ITAR/EAR requirements
Manage stakeholder communication across engineering, security, program planning, and senior leadership — providing clear status updates and actionable recommendations
Own change management processes for production M365 tenants, coordinating approvals, deployment windows, and rollback planning
Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, COE reviews, and post-launch assessments; document lessons learned and drive corrective actions
Coordinate vendor and third-party engagements to track deliverables, manage timelines, and ensure quality standards
A day in the life
You'll manage multiple programs simultaneously across the ALM365 portfolio — coordinating cross-functional workstreams with engineering, security, identity, and operations teams. On any given day you might facilitate a dependency review, unblock a deployment timeline, prepare a risk assessment, update stakeholders on milestone progress, or drive a retrospective to capture operational learnings. You'll own the rhythm of business for your programs: stand-ups, status reporting, escalation management, and launch readiness. The role requires balancing near-term execution with longer-term planning in a fast-paced environment where compliance deadlines and infrastructure dependencies shape your priorities.
About the team
The Amazon Leo M365 team configures, deploys, and manages M365 productivity services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Voice) — enabling collaboration through secure, reliable, and highly-available services that empower daily operations for Leo Production Operations and Leo Government Solutions. We also own Secure S3 (vendor data exchange) and Nextcloud (secure file sharing).
We collaborate with Amazon Security teams and key stakeholders to intake requirements and deliver a customer productivity experience to Amazon Leo specific resources. Our mission is to make secure collaboration effortless — delivering a productivity platform where compliance is built in, not bolted on, so Leo teams can focus on their mission, not their tools.
