Summary

The Insight team runs one of Apple's most critical Big Data ecosystems — an exabyte-scale, highly-available infrastructure that underpins manufacturing operations for every Apple product, globally. Every iPhone, iPad, and Mac has touched our systems.
We advance technology by relying on each other's strengths and skills to build something bigger than ourselves. For this reason, team culture is central to our values. We value social skills and integrity as much as technical craft.
The Insight team is looking for a skilled Technical Analyst to join our expanding team in China. In this role, you will serve as a technical solution provider, leveraging your deep understanding of the entire Insight platform to design data solutions for our users. It sits at the intersection of customer experience, data, and operational improvement — supporting the internal Apple teams and external manufacturing partners who depend on our platform to make critical business decisions every day.

Description

It is a role defined by the breadth of what it touches. You will develop a deep understanding of Apple's manufacturing data ecosystem, build trusted relationships across global teams, and over time, open doors to many directions within Apple — engineering, program management, data, operations, and beyond. If you are intellectually curious, technically capable, and want to learn how Apple's supply chain works from the inside, this is an exceptional place to start.

Responsibilities

  • You will work within a fast-moving operational team supporting one of Apple's most complex and business-critical data platforms. Your work directly enables the Apple engineering and operations teams that build every Apple product.
  • - Own the end-to-end support lifecycle, from initial investigation and root cause analysis to final resolution
  • - Translate technical findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences, including internal engineering teams and external manufacturing partners
  • - Identify recurring issue patterns and collaborate with SRE and engineering teams to fix root causes rather than symptoms
  • - Analyze and interpret data to build reports and visualizations that drive informed business decisions
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs, process flows, and knowledge base content to empower the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be fully considered
  • Communication: Native/fully fluent in Mandarin and highly proficient in English. Capable of translating complex technical findings into clear insights for both technical engineers and stakeholders
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to take incomplete or ambiguous information, form structured hypotheses, and drive issues to actionable conclusions.
  • Data & Analytical Skills: Good SQL proficiency to extract, analyze, and validate complex datasets, coupled with solid experience in Excel or equivalent tools for foundational reporting.
  • Experience: Proven track record in technical support (L2/L3), business analysis, or data analyst roles within a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel (up to 20%) to various manufacturing locations across China.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supply Chain & Business Analysis: Strong background supporting B2B platforms, manufacturing, supply chain, or operations technology environments, combined with familiarity in UAT processes and formal requirements documentation.
  • Data Analytics & Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Grafana, or equivalent) to design and build operational dashboards, paired with Python scripting experience for data extraction, automation, and investigation workflows.
  • AI Integration & Modern Tooling: Demonstrated experience using AI tools (LLMs, AI-assisted development, agentic workflows) to develop reports and improve operational efficiency. Exposure to API integrations and MCP (Model Context Protocol) implementations is a significant advantage.
  • Big Data & Cloud Tech: Familiarity with big data ecosystems (Kafka, Elasticsearch, EKS) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Scripting: Python scripting experience for data extraction, automation, or investigation workflows
