Within Google Cloud, Looker is the core of our Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics platform. Our mission is to reinvent BI by moving it from a descriptive (what happened) tool to a prescriptive and collaborative partner (what should we do next?). We are doing this by deeply infusing Generative AI into the Looker platform. We believe this is a 100x opportunity to change how the world interacts with data. This role is central to that mission, defining how we leverage Looker's unique semantic layer to provide trusted, governed, and conversational data experiences to everyone.

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into the core Artificial Intelligence (AI) and BI use cases and build easy-to-use and scalable features. Build a robust and scalable systems.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop techniques that improve system performance, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of critical components, from design and implementation to testing and optimization.
  • Be an expert in BI domain. Foster an environment of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Define key tech improvements, driving progress through innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-geo teams and stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages like Java, Python, Go.
  • 2 years of experience building AI solutions and experiences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in generative AI agent and machine learning.
  • Experience in full-stack development, enterprise software architecture and AI platforms.
