Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Specialist Solutions Architect for AI and Analytics to join our team in Zurich. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to AWS customers with a focus on Switzerland, helping them design and implement cutting-edge AI/ML solutions on AWS.

You will combine deep technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills to drive adoption of AWS AI services. Working alongside sales teams, partners, and service teams, you will define technical strategies, support proof-of-value engagements, and enable customers to accelerate their AI and data-driven transformation journeys.

Role is based out of Zurich, Switzerland; scope of the role includes cross-customer segments with a focus on Switzerland, potentially engaging in regions across the Germany, Switzerland and CEE area.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical resource for AI services in Switzerland, engaging with enterprise, digital-native and public sector customers.

Design and architect AI/ML and solutions leveraging services such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Quick.

Lead technical deep-dives, workshops, and proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements to demonstrate the value of AWS AI services.

Collaborate with account teams, partner solutions architects, and professional services to develop and execute customer adoption strategies.

Enable and up-skill field teams (Solutions Architects, Account Managers, and Partners) on AI/ML best practices.

Capture customer feedback and drive service improvements by working closely with AWS service teams and product managers.

Develop technical content and thought leadership including reference architectures, white papers, blog posts.

Represent AWS at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings across the territory.

Travel within the assigned territory as required to support customer engagements.

Represent your region vis-à-vis AWS product teams and influence our GenAI roadmap to best support your customers.
Work with the wider AWS teams (solution architects, data scientists, data specialists, account teams,...) to deliver results for your customers, driving the largest and most complex opportunities to closure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Deep experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, ML Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies (e.g., deep learning frameworks, model training and deployment, MLOps, Agent frameworks and platforms)
  • Proven ability to design and implement cloud-based architectures for large-scale data and AI workloads.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS AI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Quick, KIRO).
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty).
  • Experience working with enterprise customers in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, manufacturing).
  • Track record of developing and delivering technical enablement content at scale.
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales or specialist role within a cloud or technology vendor.
