Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is to leverage Amazon Leo and provide high-speed, low-latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers.

We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Manager, Security Industry Specialist to support the ALG team, focusing on global Government customers. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with a strong bias for action, deep expertise in DoD and IC security compliance frameworks, and a proven ability to design and implement security assurance programs that meet the demands of highly regulated government customers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong strategic planning skills, and the ability to deliver results are a must.

Security Clearance Requirement: This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
Security Assurance & Compliance Design
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve security assurance programs to meet compliance requirements for DoD and IC customers across a diverse portfolio of sites and programs.
  • Develop and maintain security compliance frameworks aligned to NISPOM, ICD-705, ICD-704, ICD-503, and other applicable government security directives.
  • Author and coordinate security accreditation packages, security plans, and compliance documentation for FSOs, PSOs, and CSSOs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on industrial security compliance for ALG, providing guidance to business leadership and stakeholders.
  • Inspect and maintain facilities in accordance with ICD-705 standards and enforce Amazon Security Standard Operating Procedures.
Strategic Program Leadership
  • Distill diverse inputs from large customer segments and stakeholders to drive the organizational security compliance vision, design strategies, and achieve consensus on priorities.
  • Develop security compliance strategies aligned with business operational and strategic objectives.
  • Support business development by providing security compliance expertise, reviewing RFPs, and authoring security volumes as required.
  • Write escalation documents to further the business and unblock critical activities related to security compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal security teams on security compliance metrics and escalate issues that could impact operations or accreditation status.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the primary security compliance interface with DoD and IC customers; interact with DoD and IC customers routinely.
  • Provide recommendations to security, stakeholder, and organizational executive leaders on compliance posture and risk.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with business leadership, Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, Internal Communications, and peers in other Amazon Security organizations.
Team & Operations Management
  • Lead and develop a team of geographically dispersed Security Officers across the United States at co-utilized secure facilities.
  • Hire, train, and set objectives for security team members.
  • Streamline SOPs, policies, and customer-facing artifacts to ensure uniform compliance across all sites.
  • Perform other support functions as directed by Security Management.
  • This position requires travel as needed to ALG secure facilities (by plane) across the US.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with security and engineering teams
  • 8+ years of security-related professional, or 10+ years of security-related professional experience
  • Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance
  • Experience in personnel security, investigations, physical security, document control, information systems security, preparing and processing DD 254's, FOCI, and visitor control
  • Bachelor's degree or five years of Security Specialist security experience
  • 7+ years of experience with NISPOM, NISP and hands on experience with DSS/DCSA Security Vulnerability Assessments
  • Current DCSA FSO Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with hands on contractor experience with Facility Clearance Level (FCL)
  • 5+ years of experience contractor experience with Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI) submission and maintenance
  • Experience with government security databases such as DISS, JPAS, NISS and e-QIP
  • Experience writing and publishing security standards and policies
  • Working knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICD's) - to include ICD 704, 705 and 503
  • Understanding of export control requirements as related to the NISP as well as Insider Threat experience
  • NCMS involvement and certifications
  • Experience operating a Multiple Facility Organization (MFO)
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and ICD’s
  • Participated in government security reviews

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
