Job Description

*Strong internal candidate identified

As the Senior Director, Product Management for Screening & Decisioning Services, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of a next-generation screening and decisioning capability that powers merchant, consumer, and partner screening across Visa Acceptance Solutions.

This role is at the forefront of enabling fast, intelligent, and scalable decisions from application intake through approval, decline, referral, and ongoing monitoring. Initially focused on merchant screening and onboarding, the capability will support decisioning for merchant accounts, eCheck, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), Instant Payouts, lending, and other risk-based products and services. Over time, it will evolve into a configurable and extensible solution supporting additional entities, including consumers, partners, and future risk and eligibility use cases.

The role requires deep understanding of payments, risk management, onboarding, underwriting, product management, and SaaS-based product strategy. The successful candidate will define how data, rules, workflows, external data providers, and AI-powered intelligence come together to create a scalable decisioning engine that delivers win-win-win outcomes for merchants, partners, and Visa.

This is a unique opportunity to build a strategic capability from the ground up and ultimately evolve it into a standalone Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering that delivers screening, risk assessment, and decisioning services to third-party customers and partners. The successful candidate will help shape both the product and commercial strategy, creating a scalable screening and decisioning solution that delivers value to merchants, partners, and Visa while establishing the foundation for future revenue growth and P&L ownership.

The solution will initially support Authorize.net, Acceptance Solutions for SMB, and Cybersource, while establishing the foundation for a future standalone SaaS offering serving third-party customers, platforms, processors, acquirers, and partners. The role is of significant strategic importance to Visa Acceptance Solutions and offers a unique opportunity for a strong leader to shape the future of screening, onboarding, and decisioning across the payments ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for Visa Acceptance Solutions' Screening & Decisioning Services.

  • Build and scale a unified screening and decisioning solution that supports merchants from application through decisioning and ongoing monitoring.

  • Establish and execute the product roadmap across merchant onboarding, underwriting, merchant account eligibility, eCheck, BNPL, Instant Payouts, lending, and other risk screening domains.

  • Lead a team of high-performing Product Managers responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, from opportunity identification and requirements definition through commercialization, launch, and optimization.

  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Operations, Compliance, Legal, regional teams, and GTM partners to define and execute product strategy and priorities.

  • Define core capabilities including application orchestration, workflow management, decisioning engines, rules management, AI/ML-based decisioning, manual review, exception handling, auditability, governance, APIs, and developer experiences.

  • Drive the evolution of fragmented screening experiences into a configurable, reusable, and extensible solution that can support multiple products, geographies, customer segments, and risk domains.

  • Prioritize investments across a complex portfolio of business opportunities, balancing merchant experience, partner needs, risk outcomes, operational efficiency, and business growth.

  • Represent the Screening & Decisioning Services product function and build influential relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Risk, Operations, Sales, and external partners.

  • Develop and execute the long-term commercialization strategy, transforming Screening & Decisioning Services from an internal capability into a standalone SaaS offering for third-party customers and partners.

  • Own the evolution of Screening & Decisioning Services into a standalone commercial business, including service strategy, market positioning, packaging, pricing, business model development, go-to-market alignment, and long-term P&L performance.

  • Establish key performance indicators and success metrics, including approval rates, risk outcomes, decision accuracy, automation rates, time-to-decision, operational efficiency, customer experience, adoption, revenue, and commercial impact.

  • Drive continuous innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, AI capabilities, alternative data sources, and new decisioning approaches.

The successful candidate will be a highly strategic and execution-oriented leader with the ability to inspire and develop teams while operating in a matrixed, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in payments, merchant onboarding, underwriting, risk, fraud, screening, or decisioning products, along with a proven track record of building scalable products that deliver measurable business results.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office three days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
