Responsibilities
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing and building scalable software systems that support HERE’s products and services.
In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver features
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to system design decisions
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues
- Continuously improve development processes, tools, and frameworks
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, with 5+ years of professional data engineering experience.
Implemented scalable ETL automation solutions with robust data validation frameworks, complex data transformation logic,and automated quality checks, significantly improving data accuracy, reliability, and processing efficiency.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala
- Experience designing and developing modern full‑stack web applications with scalable, responsive architectures.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into web applications (conversational interfaces, intelligent search, recommendations, workflow automation).
- Proficiency with version control systems (GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands‑on experience building AI‑powered applications (RAG, AI Agents, prompt engineering, vector databases, semantic search, LLM integrations).
- Experience using AI‑assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Amazon Q).
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of data structures, OOP concepts, and SQL.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Knowledge of quality management, end‑to‑end test strategy, or Six Sigma (plus).
- Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities.
- Strong project and program management skills.
