ABOUT THE ROLE
As Sr. Copywriter for HBO Max, you will be the creative voice of one of the world’s most iconic streaming services. You will be part of Warner Bros. Discovery Mexico’s Creative Services team, working closely with marketing, social, PR and production teams to bring campaigns to life that connect with fans of pop culture, entertainment and premium content.
If you live and breathe streaming, understand the language of social media and can think of ideas that go from a billboard to TikTok, this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop creative concepts and copy for 360° campaigns for HBO Max titles and brand across all channels, including social, TV, OOH, digital, activations, events, etc.
- Write copy that captures HBO Max’s voice and tone: sophisticated, witty, bold, culturally relevant and genuinely connected to the fan.
- Collaborate with designers, motion designers and editors to ensure consistency between copy and visual storytelling.
- Stay up to date with pop culture trends, social conversations and audience behaviors to identify relevant creative opportunities.
- Adapt key messages to different online and offline formats and platforms, including OOH, spots, mentions, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube, understanding the native language of each one.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines.
- Serve as a creative reference for the team, raising the standard of copy across all pieces.
- Work closely with marketing, social and PR teams to ensure message alignment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriter roles, ideally working with entertainment brands or companies strongly connected to today’s pop culture.
- Strong command of the language, trends, personalities and dynamics of social platforms.
- Knowledge of and passion for the entertainment industry ecosystem: series, movies, fandoms and relevant conversations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Literature or a related field, or an equivalent portfolio.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with peers and cross-functional teams in day-to-day tasks and presentations.
- Languages:
- Native Spanish with excellent writing skills.
- Intermediate-advanced English, including reading briefs and communicating with international teams.
- Nice to have: knowledge of Portuguese at any level.
