Software Quality Engineer, Sensing & Connectivity
Summary
Join the Sensing and Connectivity team to work on Location Technologies that power critical experiences in Apple products. We build highly innovative and deeply impactful location features based on the core wireless technologies such as GNSS, Ultra Wide Band (UWB), WiFi and Bluetooth. These are used across many of the our products and is the foundation of Maps and Fitness applications, Proximity sensing features such as the ground breaking AirTags UWB Precise finding and Indoor Location/iBeacons - among many more. Description
The Location Software Quality team undertakes special projects for the Sensing and Connectivity groups at Apple. These projects have ranged from developing data crowdsourcing systems to prototyping apps & features for future OS releases. We are looking for an engineer with deep understanding of wireless technologies and the possibilities such technologies hold for improved positioning. You will work closely with developers and other cross functional stake holders to understand the features and use data-driven test results to influence and craft the end product. You will use your programming skills to automate test processes, data analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Automating E2E use cases and building data processing pipelines
- Designing test plans around engineering requirements and collaborating with cross functional teams
- Driving product / feature development to completion to ship high quality customer experiences
- Supporting R&D and other investigative experiments
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3 plus years of experience writing Python code
- Experience with or designed automated build & test systems
- Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools
- Ability to drive cross-functional communications, understanding dependencies while also ensuring a tight timeline can be maintained
