Senior System Testing Manager

System Testing and Automation are fundamental to ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and release readiness of MDEP. By driving end-to-end validation strategies and scalable test automation, the team enables rapid delivery of high-quality platform releases while maintaining confidence across partner integrations, device configurations, and evolving platform capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Lead the MDEP system testing team, ensuring clear priorities, solid execution, and continuous progress on automation coverage and infrastructure.
- Own the automation framework and drive innovation, scaling, and key technical decisions aligned with MDEP priorities.
- Design and maintain a stable scalable automation software architecture across multiple Android versions, device types, and release branches.
- Drive clear, measurable OKRs across both automation and manual testing to improve quality, coverage, and release readiness.
- Manage vendor team supporting with the deliverables of MDEP releases & OKRs.
- Work closely with feature development teams to ensure new scenarios are testable and included in E2E automation early.
- Introduce AI-driven solutions to optimize test creation, execution, result analysis, and bug reporting while maintaining solid human oversight.
- Build automation pipelines and improve hardware usage and execution reliability across large-scale system testing device labs.
- Mentor automation engineers and ensure a steady pipeline of automation work, including new test coverage and technical improvements.
- Review PRs, define coding and testing guidelines, and enforce a high-quality bar with low test flakiness.
- Drive process improvements that reduce costs, increase visibility, and scale automation across all active branches and form factors.
- Define system testing timeline plan aligned with MDEP release schedule and ensure consistent & reliable automation results for all major and sustaining MDEP releases.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding
- OR equivalent industry experience in software engineering, system testing, or quality engineering.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams responsible for software quality, validation, test automation, or large-scale system testing in a complex product environment.
- Technical expertise in embedded software development, test architecture, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and quality engineering at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute quality strategies that improve product reliability, release readiness, scalability, and customer satisfaction across multiple product components or services.
- Experience driving engineering execution through data-driven goals, metrics, and OKRs, with a track record of improving quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Leadership skills, including talent development, coaching, performance management, organizational planning, and building high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, product, program management, security, partner, and executive stakeholders to drive alignment and business impact.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Appium and Android automation.
- Deep understanding of Android OS, apps, and system-level testing.
- Experience building and scaling automation on physical hardware setups.
- Proven ability to design and evolve large automation frameworks.
- Debugging skills across devices, apps, OS, and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience applying AI-assisted tools and techniques to accelerate test creation, test execution, defect analysis, and quality engineering activities.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Romania is lei 263,600.00 - lei 434,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
