Description and Requirements
The Sr. Specialist, External Communications is responsible for executing Motorola's external communications strategy, supporting brand reputation, media visibility, and key business priorities. This role partners with internal stakeholders, Public Relations (PR) agencies, media, and influencers to develop compelling communications that strengthen Motorola's positioning and ensure consistent messaging across external channels.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and execute external communication plans to support product launches, corporate announcements, partnerships, and brand campaigns.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, content creators, and influencers to strengthen brand reputation and increase earned media coverage.
Review and support the development of communication materials, including press releases, media pitches (story proposals for journalists), briefing documents, Q&A (Questions & Answers), speeches, and executive communications.
Coordinate media interviews, press events, influencer activations, product review programs, and other brand engagement initiatives.
Monitor media coverage, evaluate communication performance, and prepare reports with insights and recommendations.
Partner with Marketing, Product, Digital, Social Media, Retail, and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and storytelling.
Manage Public Relations (PR) agencies and external vendors, overseeing deliverables, budgets, and execution quality.
Support corporate reputation initiatives, executive thought leadership, and crisis communication activities when required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree completed
Experience in External Communications, Public Relations (PR), or Corporate Communications within the technology, consumer electronics, or telecommunications industry.
Experience managing media relations, product launches, corporate announcements, and communication campaigns.
Experience coordinating or managing PR agencies and external partners.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing and reviewing communication materials.
Advanced English, with the ability to participate in meetings and collaborate with global teams.
Strong organizational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Availability to work in a hybrid model.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with crisis communications.
Spanish proficiency.
Experience monitoring communication performance metrics and preparing reports.
Experience with influencer engagement programs and executive thought leadership initiatives.
