Senior Software Engineer, AI Agent Security
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Distributed Runtime Trust (DRT) team, you will have the opportunity of building the next generation, foundational infrastructure necessary to secure agent interactions across environments. This is an emerging space with high customer impact and demand. You will work on both client-side runtimes and back-end orchestration services to provision, govern, and attest agent identities across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and non-GCP environments. Your work will directly enable governed access between agents, tools, and services, acting as a critical catalyst to scale the agent ecosystem for Google Cloud. This position requires in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional security and platform teams to unlock the Agent Cloud ecosystem for distributed enterprise environments.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Design and develop next generation foundational infrastructure that establish verifiable trust and identity for AI agents running in hybrid Cloud environments bridging the gap between managed and off-premise infrastructure.
- Develop scalable back-end orchestration services to manage runtime enrollment, agent identity provisioning, and token binding.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, or C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- Experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other similar cloud technologies.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Experience with GCP and Google enterprise infrastructure security.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Familiarity with GenAI Agents and building secure infrastructure to support them across distributed, multi-cloud, or on-premise environments.
