What are my responsibilities?

Quality & Equipment Preservation

  • Establish and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with Siemens Quality Standards, ensuring execution of quality plans and PM milestones from DWE/AFC, driving continuous improvement, and supporting high-quality project execution through proactive quality assurance.
  • Manage internal and external non-conformances by initiating, implementing/assigning, and verifying corrective actions as needed, while ensuring transparent quality reporting and communication.
  • Maintain and conduct supplier audits and internal audits to discover opportunities for improvement, including quality-based supplier management through the execution of SQM for installation companies and local suppliers, timely resolution of supplier quality issues, and alignment of sourcing decisions with project quality objectives.
  • Develop and provide regular quality reporting, drive the KPIs relevant to the respective project phases, provide an overview of the current project status, and identify critical situations at an early stage.
  • Create, moderate, and drive the implementation of quality assurance measures, including root cause analyses and lessons learned.
  • Initiate and manage Requests for Deviation/Waivers with relevant stakeholders and departments, ensuring timely review, approval, documentation, and compliance with project and quality requirements.
  • Facilitate and participate in Project Gate Reviews and ensure the timely implementation and closure of resulting actions.
  • Create and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, and site documentation.
  • Manage and drive the MIR process, ensuring that all materials are inspected, documented, approved, and compliant with project, contractual, and Siemens quality requirements.
  • Ensure and maintain all quality documentation, certificates, inspection reports, and test records (FAT/SAT) are properly maintained and submitted.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, specifications, applicable standards, and Siemens Quality Management System requirements.
  • Define and maintain the preservation strategy for long-term stored and idle equipment and establish policies, procedures, and governance frameworks for storage, preservation, and, if needed, maintenance activities.
  • Ensure and monitor alignment of preservation activities with OEM requirements, project specifications, contractual obligations, and applicable quality requirements.
  • Monitor and report the performance of preservation programs through periodic reporting and review inspection reports and equipment condition assessments as needed.
  • Identify and manage strategic risks related to equipment degradation and ensure mitigation actions are implemented, integrating preservation risks into the overall project quality and risk management processes.
  • Ensure and verify that supplier documentation, manuals, and preservation procedures comply with project standards and coordinate supplier quality and preservation requirements within procurement and project activities.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor contracts and establish the preservation regime with subcontractors for preservation activities.
  • Coordinate and ensure that required assets, such as maintenance consumables and preservation spare parts, are made available.
  • Provide oversight and monitor site and warehouse conditions in terms of preservation effectiveness, monitor preservation work contractors, and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Provide and integrate periodic management reports regarding equipment condition, preservation status, identified risks, quality performance, and required mitigation actions.
  • Drive and ensure continuous improvement across quality and equipment preservation activities through proactive assurance, audits, root cause analyses, lessons learned, corrective actions, and effective stakeholder communication.

 What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
  • 7 to 9 years of relevant professional experience in Quality Management, Project Quality, Quality Assurance/Control, Equipment Preservation, or a comparable role within industrial, or large-scale project environments.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal), German is a plus
  • Prior experience in Egyptian mainline railway or metro projects is preferred.
  • Expertise in quality Management Systems, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, supplier quality management (SQM) and equipment preservation for long-term stored or idle equipment.
  • Managing multiple priorities, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, monitoring project quality performance, identifying critical situations at an early stage, and ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Stakeholder management, communication, teamwork, coordination, analytical thinking, problem-solving, risk identification, decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across multidisciplinary and international project teams.
