Senior Engineering Analyst, Content Adversarial Red Team
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The Content Adversarial Red Team (CART) in Trust & Safety is a key product area partner and critical part of Google's mission to launch bold and responsible GenAI products. CART conducts red teaming to uncover new and emerging content risks in Google's premier GenAI products. CART works alongside product, policy, and enforcement teams to help build the safest possible experiences for Google users. As a technical expert on the team, we will look to you to help foster a culture of continuous learning as you share your expertise in adversarial techniques and technical solutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Deliver analytic insights based on innovative and complex red teaming exercises that help uncover content abuse risks. Inform and lead the creation and refinement of net new red teaming methodologies, strategies and tactics.
- Help mature red teaming capabilities by designing and implementing technical solutions in collaboration within and across the team that provide optimized approaches that help support and scale adversarial testing.
- Contribute to project scoping, design, and functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Research, and Policy, to drive the implementation of strategic safety initiatives. Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on complex content safety issues, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- This role works with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, and/or upsetting topics or content.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- 5 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- 5 years of experience or familiarity with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
- 5 years of experience or familiarity with machine learning systems.
- Experience with Generative AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
