In the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team, we are looking for a Seniot Data Anlayst with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale Power BI reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will serve as a technical liazion for analytics, reporting, and visualization, partnering with stakeholders to deliver trusted, high-quality dashboards and self-service analytics capabilities. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your expertise in Power BI, data modeling, advanced analytics, and business intelligence while contributing to Microsoft's customer success mission.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic data models.

  • Develop advanced DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and optimized data models to support reporting and analytics needs.

  • Establish reporting, visualization, and data governance standards to improve consistency and data quality.

  • Translate complex business requirements into intuitive and scalable reporting solutions.

  • Partner with stakeholders to define metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements that drive business outcomes.

  • Optimize report performance, refresh strategies, and data reliability across enterprise environments.

  • Influence reporting strategy and establish bestpractices for dashboard development, performance optimization, and data visualization.

  • Drive continuous improvement through analytics, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 5+ years of technical support, technical consulting, analytics, reporting, or information technology experience

     o OR 7+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience 
     o OR equivalent experience.

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced data analytics skills — deep exploratory data analysis, metric and KPI definition, segmentation, cohort and trend analysis, and driving business decisions from data.
  • Advanced dashboard-building and visualization skills — advanced interactivity, UX, and visualization design.
  • Data storytelling — translating complex analyses into compelling data stories through enhanced visualizations in Power BI, Python (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn, plotly), or other tools.
  • Deep experience with Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, and row-level security.
  • Experience with large-scale data warehouses and star-schema design.
  • Track record of building widely adopted, high-performance reporting solutions.
  • Advanced data modeling skills — complex DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional/star-schema modeling.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role.  These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.


Technical Support Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
