One Medical was acquired in 2023 and provides primary care to both commercial insured and Medicare patients nationwide. As a non-integrated subsidiary we are driving to integrate into Amazon’s technology solution to scale and better control our processes. These roles will have the ability to drive change and transform processes as we pursue our future state solutions.

This role will primarily support our operational accounting team which involves process improvement and opportunity to expand scope into other areas of One Medical!

Key job responsibilities
• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.

• Understanding accounting and financial principles and how to apply them.

• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.

• Strong sense of ownership.

• Analysis of complex processes and systems data.

A day in the life
You'll own close activities across One Medical's subsidiary ledger, partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and improve process controls. You'll identify gaps in existing workflows, propose solutions, and drive implementation as we migrate legacy processes into Amazon's financial systems. No two months look the same!

About the team
Amazon Health Services Accounting is responsible for the financial reporting and controllership of One Medical — Amazon's primary care business operating across 100+ locations nationwide. We manage accounting for a complex, multi-entity structure spanning several legal entities including professional corporations, management companies, and virtual care entities. Our team partners closely with Tax, Legal, Treasury, Revenue Operations, and FinTech to drive integration into Amazon's financial ecosystem while maintaining compliance with healthcare-specific regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
  • CPA
  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
