About Siemens
Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. Across more than 190 countries we push the boundaries of what's possible to improve how we live and work together. At Siemens, our people are our most important asset — join us in shaping the future.
Description
As a Product Designer III at Siemens, you’re a highly capable designer who operates independently, elevates those around you, and shapes the design direction of your product area. You’ll lead complex design challenges, set quality standards, and connect design decisions to user outcomes and business strategy. You are a trusted partner to product and engineering leadership and a go-to resource for your design team. This role suits designers with 4–7 years of professional experience.
You’ll make an impact by
• Lead design for a product area or a complex, cross-functional feature set — from framing to delivery
• Plan and conduct evaluative research — usability testing, heuristic analysis, competitive evaluations, and prototype testing — to test design hypotheses and sharpen direction
• Set the design quality bar for your product area — defining standards, reviewing peers’ work, and raising the overall level of craft
• Proactively identify UX problems before they reach engineering, bringing systematic thinking to workflow gaps and edge cases
• Represent the design perspective in product roadmap conversations, contributing user insight and design rationale to prioritization decisions
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and design sprints with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
• Apply and contribute to the established design system — proposing, designing, and documenting new components and patterns
• Mentor and grow Product Designer I and II colleagues through structured feedback and pairing
• Champion accessibility as a design standard, not a checkbox — embedding it from the earliest stages of every project
AI at Siemens — How This Role Uses & Builds AI
Every role at Siemens is expected to work with AI and contribute to how we build AI-powered products. In this role you will:
• Lead the UX design of AI-powered features — from how the system communicates uncertainty to how users build trust in AI recommendations
• Define AI interaction patterns for your product area: explainability, override mechanisms, feedback loops, and progressive automation
• Evaluate and introduce AI-powered design tools that meaningfully improve team throughput and design quality
• Coach less experienced designers on AI tool use and responsible AI design principles
• Partner with data science and engineering teams to shape AI feature design from model conception through user-facing delivery
• Contribute to a team-level point of view on ethical, user-trust considerations in AI product design
This is how you'll win us over
• 5-8 years of professional product design experience, with clear progression in scope and ownership
• Expert Figma proficiency; mastery of component-driven design, auto-layout, and design token systems
• Proven ability to lead complex design projects independently, managing ambiguity and competing constraints
• Experience conducting evaluative research — usability testing, heuristic reviews, and prototype evaluations — to drive and validate design decisions
• Deep command of WCAG accessibility standards and ability to evangelize and implement across a team
• Experience contributing to or governing a design system at scale
• Demonstrated ability to influence product roadmap decisions through design insight and user evidence
• Portfolio showing complex, multi-screen product design with clear evidence of craft and strategic impact
Nice to Have
• Experience designing AI-powered product features — recommendations, automation, intelligent search, or anomaly detection
• Background in enterprise software, industrial systems, or operational technology (OT) domains
• Experience designing data-rich interfaces: dashboards, analytics, real-time monitoring
At Siemens, you'll have the opportunity to grow your career while helping organizations operate smarter, safer, and more sustainably. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, where employees are empowered to make a difference every day. If you're excited about solving real-world challenges and shaping the future of asset management, we encourage you to apply
