Presales Solution Consultant - MendixRapidMiner (MXRM), Japan
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Intelligence Center X is our platform for the agentic enterprise: an integrated combination of Enterprise Knowledge Graph (Graph Studio), governed machine learning (AI Studio), and enterprise application and agent development (Mendix). Together, they give organizations the context, intelligence, and action capabilities to deploy AI that actually works at enterprise scale.
We are a team that values open thinking, collaboration, and diverse perspectives. Your ideas will be heard, and your contributions will have a direct, visible impact on how we grow.
The Role
As a Senior Presales Solution Consultant within Mendix-Rapidminer (MXRM) GTM organization, you are the technical partner to our Specialized Account Executives (SAEs) across Japan. You own the technical dimension of every deal - from first discovery conversation to Custom Experience delivery to commercial close. You don't just demo software. You teach customers something new about their own data landscape, prove value on their data before they sign, and earn the right to ask for the business. You are the reason customers say "we have to have this." Your product focus will be shaped by the team's needs after you join — you may lead with Graph Studio, AI Studio, or Mendix, but you will be expected to position and support the full Intelligence Center X platform across all three.
What You Will Do
Discovery & Qualification
- Partner with SAEs to lead discovery sessions — surfacing cross-domain data challenges, agentic AI readiness, and platform opportunity across accounts in Japan
- Qualify and classify opportunities across the three lanes of opportunity: Lane 1 (AI-Ready Data Platform), Lane 2 (Enterprise Graph Platform), and Lane 3 (Emerging KG-based Solutions)
- Assess the customer's existing data platform landscape (Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, SAP, etc.) and identify where Intelligence Center X fits — as a complement, a context layer, or a competitive displacement
Demo & Custom Experience
- Design, build, and deliver tailored demos (Initial Experience) shaped around the customer's industry and specific use case — not generic feature tours
- Lead the Custom Experience: build a working, multi-product experience on the customer's own domain context, in our cloud, fast and free — and use it to earn the right to close
- Articulate the integrated value of Graph Studio + AI Studio + Mendix across both technical and business audiences, from data engineers to C-suite
Architecture & Technical Validation
- Design and explain enterprise-scale Knowledge Graph architectures — including Graph Lakehouse, Graphmart, MPP engine, GDI, and deployment patterns (cloud VPC, on-premise, hybrid)
- Handle technical deep-dives on security, scalability, integration (REST, SPARQL, JDBC, MCP), and data platform connectivity
- Own competitive positioning against Neo4j, Palantir, Microsoft Fabric, Stardog, TigerGraph, Glean, and others — using the right lane-specific framework for each situation
Deal Support & Post-Sale Continuity
- Support the Close stage with technical defense of the offer — sizing rationale, architecture validation, expansion path articulation
- Stay engaged through early implementation deliveries alongside the Professional Services team — maintaining goal alignment, customer confidence, and expansion opportunity identification
- Co-drive the use case discovery pipeline with PS SEs to fuel Year 2+ ARR expansion
What You Will Need
- Enterprise data and AI fluency — practical knowledge of at least one of: Knowledge Graph / semantic data modeling, machine learning / AI platforms, enterprise application development, or agentic AI architectures
- Presales or technical sales experience — 3+ years designing and delivering technical demos, POCs, or solution proposals in an enterprise software context
- Stakeholder communication — ability to engage credibly with data engineers, data scientists, IT architects, and C-level executives; adjusting depth and framing for each audience
- Japanese (business-level fluency) and English (reading, writing, and conversational) — both required for this role
With Preferred knowledge
- Knowledge Graph / semantic technology experience — hands-on with RDF, OWL, SPARQL, SHACL, or similar W3C standards
- Graph database platform experience — Neo4j, Stardog, TigerGraph, Amazon Neptune, or comparable
- Enterprise AI/ML platform experience — AI Studio / Rapidminer, DataRobot, H2O.ai, SageMaker, Azure ML, or comparable
- Low-code / application platform experience — Mendix, OutSystems, Salesforce, or comparable
- Industry domain knowledge — deep understanding of business challenges in manufacturing, life sciences, financial services, or high-tech
- Siemens Xcelerator familiarity — Teamcenter, Opcenter, Simcenter, or related PLM/MES platforms
- Programming and query languages — Python, SPARQL, SQL, or similar
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field — Bachelor's required; Master's or PhD welcome
Soft Skills
- Trusted advisor presence — the kind of credibility that makes customers want to keep talking to you after the demo
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value — without losing the technical audience
- Self-driven and collaborative — comfortable operating independently and collab with global team
- Comfort with ambiguity — you can move a deal forward even when the customer's requirements aren't fully formed
- Genuine curiosity about technology and market trends — you follow what's happening in AI, graph, and data platforms
