About the role and team

Local Operations at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. As an Operations Associate, you don’t just observe—you build. You will join our most critical business units, such as Uber Shuttle, Marketplace Pricing, or Merchant Analytics, to transform complex ideas into agile, real-world solutions. You’ll be trusted from day one to move fluidly between big-picture strategy and the gritty details, ensuring our global products are high-quality and cost-effective.

This role is for a hungry, self-directed problem solver who thrives in a fast-moving environment. You’ll navigate competing priorities and lead through data-driven influence to shape the future of movement and commerce. Whether you are growth hacking a new business line, optimizing marketplace pricing, or managing strategic fleet partners, you will be expected to move with both urgency and care. If you think critically and want to grow by solving what’s hard, this is where your career takes off.

What you’ll do

  • Apply structured problem-solving frameworks and robust data analysis to tackle new and ambiguous marketplace challenges, from pricing strategy to supply-demand balance.
  • Experiment with cost-effective growth levers and iteratively build out operational handbooks to accelerate rider acquisition or merchant success.
  • Lead end-to-end operational projects, managing timelines, KPIs, and results while unblocking technical or on-ground dependencies.
  • Build and manage long-lasting, productive relationships with external partners (fleets, merchants, or vendors), acting as their main point of contact for escalations and optimization.
  • Automate and optimize key workflows to enhance efficiency, allowing teams to focus on high-leverage strategic growth and relationship building.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure local operational needs are reflected in global product roadmaps and tooling.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in operations, consulting, analytics, or a highly agile, project-based environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in data tools including Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and CRM platforms like Salesforce.
  • Technical expertise in SQL and querying complex databases to drive business decisions.
  • Proven track record of owning projects end-to-end and delivering measurable results in a high-growth business.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (plus relevant local market languages where required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Python, R, or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in consumer growth, marketplace pricing, or fleet/logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in building analytical models for forecasting, price benchmarking, or churn analysis.
  • Ability to switch from high-level program strategy to rolling up your sleeves for rapid implementation.
  • Strong background in managing external vendor relationships or BPO networks.
  • Experience in "0-to-1" environments, such as launching new products or geographic markets.
