As Strategic Account Director, you will lead and inspire a diverse, high-performing team to drive one of Microsoft’s most important customer relationships. You will create clarity and accountability, coordinate key stakeholders, and align Microsoft and partner strategies to execute account plans, accelerate growth, and deliver measurable transformation outcomes for both the customer and Microsoft. 

This role requires a proven leader who can establish trusted relationships with C-level executives, build and inspire high-performing teams, and orchestrate a broad ecosystem of Microsoft, partner, and customer stakeholders. You will own the overall account strategy, executive engagement model, business performance, and talent agenda while creating clarity, accountability, and a culture of excellence across your team. 

Leveraging Microsoft’s full portfolio of cloud, AI, security, and business solutions, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior customer leaders, helping shape business strategy, identify new sources of value creation, and deliver transformational outcomes. You will lead the development and execution of dynamic, multi-year customer plans that anticipate future opportunities, align to customer priorities, and position Microsoft as the strategic partner of choice.

Responsibilities

Business Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end business strategy, growth agenda, and performance for one of Microsoft's most strategic customer relationships.
  • Develop and execute dynamic multi-year account plans that align customer priorities, market opportunities, Microsoft strategy, and partner investments across near-term execution, medium-term growth, and long-term transformation.
  • Manage sales pipeline and forecasting with discipline, resourcefulness, and high standards of operational excellence.
  • Orchestrate opportunities, deals, and sales strategies with rigor on compliance and risk mitigation to maximize customer value realization and Microsoft business performance.
  • Drive accountability across a large matrix organization to deliver customer value, business outcomes, and sustained growth.

Executive Relationships & Customer Strategy

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C-suite business and technology decision makers.
  • Lead executive engagement strategies, governance rhythms, business reviews, and strategic advisory moments that deepen Microsoft's role as a transformation partner.
  • Position Microsoft as market leader by demonstrating business value, influencing decision makers, and negotiating mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Challenge conventional thinking and bring innovative, industry-specific perspectives that influence customer strategy and business outcomes.

Team & Talent Leadership

  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team through empowerment, coaching, accountability, and care.
  • Model Microsoft's culture, values, and leadership principles while defining clear team objectives and outcomes.
  • Attract, retain, and develop great people by understanding individual capabilities and aspirations and investing in the growth of others.

One Microsoft Orchestration

  • Lead and coordinate a diverse virtual team across sales, customer success, partners, technical specialists, industry experts, engineering, and other key stakeholders.
  • Create clarity around priorities, ownership, governance, execution rhythms, and success measures.
  • Proactively solicit customer feedback, anticipate satisfaction risks, remove blockers, and establish recovery actions to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Remove organizational barriers, resolve complex challenges, escalate risks where needed, and align resources around customer and Microsoft priorities.

Strategic Growth & Innovation

    • Identify transformational opportunities by leveraging deep customer, industry, market, competitive, and partner ecosystem insights.
    • Create and execute innovative growth strategies that expand Microsoft's footprint and deliver differentiated customer value.
    • Lead partner and ecosystem engagement to develop joint investment plans, accelerate innovation, and grow customer and partner impact.
    • Anticipate industry trends, emerging technologies, and market shifts to shape long-term customer and Microsoft success.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation
    • OR Bachelor's Degree AND several years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation
    • OR Master's Degree AND consolidated years experience working in an industry (e.g., Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Government, Education, Technology) and/or driving digital transformation
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Multiple years of experience making recommendations to and/or collaborating with mid-to-senior level executives
  • Several years experience closing large, complex agreements/deals

Strategic Account Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across Belgium is € 159,700.00 - € 273,100.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
