Tesla is looking for a highly motivated and process-oriented Senior Logistics Analyst to join our expanding supply chain team. This role involves leading a team to support Tesla’s Vehicle Service distribution center. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to going the extra mile. This position requires excellent coordination with carriers and Tesla warehouses to ensure smooth inbound and outbound material flow, ultimately achieving high customer satisfaction. The candidate must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and making sound decisions quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a local Logistics team supporting the Regional Distribution Center for Service network, training teams on best practices and implementing a unified distribution handbook
  • Coordinate and direct milk runs with internal drivers and external fleets, identifying cost-saving opportunities by consolidating materials from different routes
  • Act as a hands-on leader in critical situations, personally managing urgent shipments, tracking route efficiency, and documenting operational improvements for reporting to finance and leadership
  • Monitor the fleet and assign pick-ups based on driver locations, driving network improvements for cost and resource efficiency. Design and coordinate reverse logistics processes to maximize fleet utilization
  • Maintain close communication with carriers, report incidents, and track KPIs during OIL calls, collaborating on process improvements and system enhancements. Work cross-functionally with other organizations to achieve key business goals and drive operational excellence
  • Define key performance indicators to track operational performance, using data mining, analysis, and visualization for KPI reporting
  • Negotiate spot and transactional business with carriers, monitor performance, and collaborate with procurement on RFQ/RFP processes, providing input on volume forecasts, carrier scorecards, and customer service performance

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Logistics or transportation; at least 1-2 years in a people leadership position
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, TMS included, and ability to identify gaps and work with the systems teams and leaders to introduce new functionalities that optimize the process
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding terms, standards Incoterms, and Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of SQL and Tableau, preferred
  • Proven record of successfully implementing process improvement initiatives, including cost reduction and operational efficiency gains. Desire to grow and take on an increased scope of responsibility
