Description and Requirements
The V&A Business Development and Competitive Strategy Manager will play a key role in identifying new growth opportunities and strengthening the competitiveness of Lenovo Japan’s Visual & Accessories business.
This role will lead business development initiatives by translating market insights, competitive intelligence, channel opportunities, portfolio strategy, pricing actions, and supply-demand planning into executable business plans. The position will work closely with V&A Commercial and Consumer Leads, sales teams, 4P, product planning, channel teams, and supply stakeholders to accelerate growth in SMB channel, consumer, and high-touch opportunities.
This is a high-impact Manager role for someone who can combine business development mindset, competitive strategy, analytical thinking, and hands-on execution to help build V&A into a more competitive, profitable, and scalable growth business for Japan PCSD.
This role reports directly to the Director, Japan PCSD Growth Strategy Team.

About the Team
Japan PCSD is establishing the Growth Strategy Team to transform Visual & Accessories and Alliance businesses into strategic growth engines for sustainable PCSD growth. The team will drive stronger business ownership, closer co-ownership with core product and channel leaders, and disciplined execution across business development, GTM, solution development, competitive strategy, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for V&A across SMB channel, consumer, and high-touch segments.
- Lead competitive analysis by sales channel to identify pricing gaps, portfolio opportunities, sales barriers, and growth potential.
- Translate competitive insights and market trends into business development actions, portfolio recommendations, and GTM priorities.
- Drive portfolio optimization by aligning customer needs, channel requirements, product competitiveness, and profitability.
- Develop pricing proposals and GP control recommendations to improve market competitiveness while protecting BMCGP.
- Partner with V&A segment leads, sales, 4P, product planning, and channel teams to convert business opportunities into executable action plans.
- Support supply and demand planning to improve product availability, business predictability, and execution quality.
- Track competitive movements, business performance, and execution gaps, and recommend corrective actions to improve CA, revenue, and profits.
- Strengthen V&A business governance through regular KPI tracking, business reviews, and action-oriented performance management.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in business development, competitive strategy, category management, product planning, pricing, channel strategy, or business planning.
- Strong ability to identify growth opportunities and translate insights into practical business actions.
- Analytical capability to assess market trends, competitive positioning, pricing, portfolio, and profitability.
- Good understanding of PC, Visual, Accessories, consumer electronics, IT hardware, or adjacent device businesses.
- Ability to balance business growth, market competitiveness, pricing, and GP control.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across sales, product, 4P, channel, and supply teams.
- Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to move beyond analysis and drive measurable business outcomes.
