Lease Delivery Program Manager
Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team that plans, builds and operates the datacenter infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s global cloud services. CO+I delivers the secure, resilient and scalable infrastructure that enables customers, partners and businesses around the world to rely on Microsoft’s cloud platforms every day.
Within CO+I, Integrated Lease Delivery (ILD) leads the delivery of leased datacenter capacity. ILD brings together programme management, engineering, construction management, commissioning, safety, commercial governance, project controls and operational readiness to deliver capacity safely, predictably and at scale.
The Lease Delivery Program Manager (LDPM) is Microsoft’s accountable programme leader for leased datacenter delivery. This role leads complex, multi-disciplinary data centre construction and fit out programmes from lease execution through Ready for Service, Ready for Network Install, fit-out completion and turnover to Operations.
The LDPM creates one integrated delivery view across lease providers, Microsoft stakeholders and delivery partners, ensuring clear priorities, disciplined governance, proactive risk management and aligned decision-making.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead leased datacenter delivery programmes across multiple projects, tranches or sites.
- Integrate construction, engineering, technical infrastructure, commissioning, safety, commercial, project controls and operational readiness workstreams into one coordinated programme plan.
- Own programme-level governance, reporting, escalation, risk and dependency management.
- Act as Microsoft’s senior delivery interface with lease providers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, including Engineering, End to End, Commissioning, Safety, Operations, Commercial, Legal, Procurement, Security and Network teams.
- Responsibility for the on time deliver of Microsoft milestones including: Ready for Service, Ready for Network Install, commissioning, fit-out completion and turnover milestones.
- Support commercial and contractual governance, including change control, delivery decisions and issue resolution.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe delivery remains central to programme decision-making.
- Manage a team of eternal owner representatives.
- Responsible for ensuring regional goals of delivering capacity are aligned to business OKRs.
- Identify and track metrics to help with improvement in delivery of milestones, Cost and other OKRs.
- Act as Construction and Fitout SMEs during lease site selection.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 7+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical OR plumbing (MEP) plants.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff
Ability to influence cross-discipline teams
Construction Health & Safety Knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in datacenter, cloud infrastructure, telecoms, energy, construction or mission-critical environments.
Experience with lease providers, developers, landlords, consultants, contractors or outsourced delivery models.
Understanding of commissioning, operational readiness, handover, project controls, change control and commercial governance.
Ability to operate with ambiguity, create structure, build trust and maintain delivery momentum across complex stakeholder environments.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
