As a Senior or Lead Product Designer at Siemens, you’re a design leader in practice — even without a management title. You’ll operate at the intersection of design craft and strategic influence, shaping product direction, setting team quality standards, and building design capability across the organization. You’ll own the most complex design problems, represent design in stakeholder conversations, and be a formative influence on Siemens’ AI-powered product experiences. This role suits designers with 7–10+ years of experience who are ready to lead without authority.

You’llmake an impact by 

·       Own design strategy for a product domain — connecting user outcomes to business goals and translating that into a coherent design vision

·       Define and uphold design quality standards across multiple product teams; conduct influential design reviews and critiques

·       Lead the most complex, ambiguous design challenges — multi-team features, platform-level workflows, and experience-breaking problems

·       Shape the product roadmap through design thinking: running evaluative studies, surfacing design insights, and making the case for user-centered prioritization

·       Act as a primary design voice in senior cross-functional forums — product leadership, engineering directors, and external stakeholders

·       Lead the evolution of the design system for your domain — proposing system-level patterns and governing their quality

·       Build design capability across the team: mentoring, coaching, pair-designing, and running structured skills development

·       Drive research-informed design practice — partnering with research to shape and apply studies, and connecting findings to strategic design decisions

AI at Siemens — How This Role Uses & Builds AI

Every role at Siemens is expected to work with AI and contribute to how we build AI-powered products. In this role you will:

·       Establish a design point of view on AI in your product domain — articulating principles for how AI should behave, be explained, and be controlled by users

·       Lead the design of Siemens’ most consequential AI-powered features — defining trust frameworks, explainability patterns, and automation UX

·       Evaluate and champion AI design tools that raise the ceiling on team quality and speed

·       Build team-level fluency in AI-native design — running workshops, sharing frameworks, and modeling best practice

·       Work with product and engineering leadership to define AI design standards that scale across the Siemens product portfolio

·       Contribute to ethical AI design conversations at the organization level — shaping how Siemens builds AI products responsibly

This is howyou'llwin us over

·       7–10+ years of professional product design experience with clear leadership trajectory

·       Deep mastery of Figma and the broader design toolchain, including prototyping, design tokens, and system governance

·       Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous design programs spanning multiple teams or product areas

·       Demonstrated experience shaping product strategy through design — not just executing on it

·       Strong research literacy — able to frame research questions, collaborate with researchers to shape studies, and apply findings to design strategy

·       Strong executive communication skills: can make compelling, evidence-based cases to senior stakeholders

·       Significant design system governance experience at scale

·       Portfolio demonstrating design leadership, strategic impact, and measurable user outcomes

·       Experience running design sprints, vision workshops, or futures thinking exercises with cross-functional teams

·       Previous experience in a design system lead or principal designer capacity

·       Exposure to design operations or practice-building at an organizational level
