
Lab Assistant, Drive Systems Test Engineering
Description
This person will be a part of Tesla’s Drive Systems Test Engineering group. This will be a supportive role in the drive unit level testing for new product validation and reliability. This person will work with Engineering Technicians and Test Engineers, in a high-paced environment to help the Drive Unit Test teams meet deadlines.
In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks within our test facilities across the bay area. These tasks consist of shipping and receiving, ordering tools, inventory, organizing storage areas, assisting with keeping the lab space organized, and keeping aisles clear and safe for forklift and foot traffic.
Responsibilities
- Operating the forklift, pallet jack and other resources. Lift and move material/parts/vehicles in and out of the labs and chambers
- Coordinating with Tesla support teams, janitorial, EHS, security, lab operations teams, etc. Creating purchase requests, and onboarding vendors
- In charge of lab organization and inventory of samples, test system preventative maintenance, and logistics
Requirements
- Strong communication skills are a requirement for establishing effective working relationships
- Basic computer/software use experience (Excel, Web Browsers, Word, e-mail, and Calendars)
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and multitasking day-to-day
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to assist in lab organization in a fast paced enviroment
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. throughout the day
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $36.60/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
