Responsibilities

During this internship, you will:

  • Learn DRAM reliability fundamentals, aging mechanisms, degradation models, and reliability qualification methodologies.
  • Document end-to-end reliability workflows, setup procedures, and best-known methods.
  • Evaluate netlist, model, and simulation requirements for large-scale reliability studies.
  • Study various reliability models and identify benchmark test vehicles.
  • Perform comparative benchmarking of different reliability models using representative DRAM circuits.
  • Analyze reliability-induced degradation in:
    • Delay and timing performance
    • Circuit functionality
    • Runtime and computational efficiency
    • Model scalability
  • Actively leverage AI‑based tools, agentic workflows, and automation frameworks to:
    • Accelerate schematic optimization and design‑space exploration
    • Assist in parasitic analysis, sensitivity studies, and corner coverage
    • Improvise and automate reliability study workflows
  • Conduct block-level reliability studies on critical DRAM circuits including:
    • Wordline drivers
    • Sense amplifiers
    • Command and control paths
    • Peripheral circuitry
  • Investigate recovery, relaxation, and workload-aware reliability behavior.
  • Evaluate dynamic stress and aging effects under realistic operating conditions.
  • Execute full-chip reliability studies and assess scalability challenges.
  • Develop automation, data analysis, and comparison frameworks to accelerate benchmarking.
  • Present progress and technical findings to cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Prepare a final technical report and executive recommendation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Semiconductor Devices
    • Or a related field
  • Strong understanding of CMOS circuit design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and reliability concepts.
  • Familiarity with SPICE simulation environments.
  • Experience analyzing circuit performance and timing behavior.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently execute research-driven projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research experience in semiconductor reliability, aging, or compact modeling.
  • Experience with SPICE simulators such as Spectre, PrimeSim, HSPICE, or FineSim.
  • Familiarity with reliability mechanisms such as:
    • BTI (Bias Temperature Instability)
    • HCI (Hot Carrier Injection)
    • TDDB (Time Dependent Dielectric Breakdown)
    • Electromigration
  • Experience with Python, Tcl, MATLAB, or data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of memory circuits including DRAM, SRAM, or embedded memories.
  • Experience handling large simulation datasets and benchmarking studies.

Published research in reliability modeling, semiconductor devices, or circuit design is a plus.
