Description
The Functional Consultant assists customers with implementing Oracle enterprise applications solutions. The role requires heavy interaction with customers, implementation teams and partners. He/she will have implementation expertise spanning the full implementation cycle and be adept at implementing Oracle applications functionality.

As a functional consultant, you will be responsible for deliverables at every phase of the software implementation lifecycle such as:

  • Preparing for, facilitating, and gaining agreement on global design
  • Documenting the client’s as-is process flows and communicating best practices for the to-be optimal state
  • Adapting the solution for localizations or business processes specific to a client’s business unit or operating location
  • Documenting and gaining agreement on the client configuration
  • Implementing and configuring applications
  • Developing a test strategy to validate the solution and confirming successful deployment
  • Identifying risks or issues associated with assigned tasks; taking initiative to proactively alert project leadership of any risks or issues


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10–12 years of overall PeopleSoft technical experience, with at least 3–4 years in a technical architect or lead role.
    Deep expertise in PeopleTools (Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, BI Publisher, and PS Query).
  • Solid knowledge of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), including web/app/process scheduler/database server configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience designing and building system interfaces using Integration Broker, Web Services (SOAP/REST), file-based integrations, and JSON/XML.
  • Extensive experience in data conversion strategies, including ETL processes, data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and migration from legacy systems.
  • Strong system architecture knowledge, covering scalability, high availability, load balancing, and performance tuning (SQL, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR).
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server, including complex SQL writing, performance analysis, and database structure understanding.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Deployment Packages (DPK) for environment provisioning, patching, and maintenance, including applying PeopleTools patches and upgrades using DPK and Change Assistant.
  • Proven track record in at least 2–3 full lifecycle implementations, with the ability to produce technical design documents and architecture diagrams.
  • Ideally, have experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including deployment, management, and troubleshooting of PeopleSoft environments on OCI.
