Job Description

Europe Government Affairs

The Business Planning & Policy Strategy Analyst supports the delivery of Europe Government Affairs' (GA) strategic priorities through a combination of business planning, operational excellence, policy analysis and strategic insight.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, public policy and government affairs. Working closely with Europe GA leadership, market teams and cross-functional partners, the analyst will help shape strategic priorities, support executive engagement and provide insight on political, regulatory and market developments that influence Visa's growth agenda across Europe.

The role is responsible for supporting business planning processes, governance activities, executive reporting and strategic initiatives across the Europe Government Affairs function. It also provides research, analytical and project support on policy issues linked to Visa's strategic priorities across Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (CMS), Value Added Services (VAS) and emerging innovation areas.

The position offers broad exposure to Visa's Government Affairs agenda, senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Europe and globally.

What we expect of you day-to-day:

Business Planning & Operations

  • Coordinate Europe GA planning, governance and reporting processes.

  • Support executive reporting, business reviews, dashboards and leadership presentations.

  • Manage timelines, stakeholder inputs and deliverables for key strategic initiatives and planning cycles.

  • Maintain and enhance reporting tools, trackers and performance metrics used across the function.

  • Support strategic initiatives, operational improvement efforts and team effectiveness activities.

  • Drive consistency and quality across leadership communications, business updates and governance processes.

  • Support budget tracking, procurement coordination and operational management activities across the team, as required.

Policy & Strategic Insights

  • Monitor political, regulatory and policy developments relevant to Visa's business and growth priorities.

  • Conduct research and analysis on issues affecting the payments ecosystem and broader digital economy.

  • Support development of policy briefings, executive summaries and stakeholder engagement materials.

  • Assist with strategic projects related to CMS, VAS and emerging innovation priorities.

  • Provide analytical support to leadership on emerging risks, market trends and policy developments.

  • Help translate complex policy and geopolitical developments into business-relevant insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in government affairs, public policy, strategy, business operations, consulting, economics, research, financial services, technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Politics, Economics, Business, International Relations, Law or a related field.

  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in government affairs, public policy, strategy, business operations, consulting or related fields.

  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, regulation, government affairs, geopolitics, financial services or technology.

  • Ability to translate complex information into clear and actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

  • Experience preparing executive presentations, reports or analytical materials.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.

  • Experience working in a matrixed or international environment is desirable.
