Job Summary 

This role leads external engagement activities for HP Inc.’s corporate communications team and is accountable for driving media and influencer relationships as well as leading communication efforts related to corporate narrative, CEO visibility, financial communications, owned media storytelling, and leveraging insights and measurements to drive business objectives. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, shape positioning, lead a media relations and content team, and partner with other corporate affairs and marketing leaders. This leader also will play a role in advancing innovation in practices and tools used by corporate communications to improve effectiveness and efficiency. 

Responsibilities 

Corporate Narrative 

  • Own and evolve HP Inc.’s corporate narrative platform ensuring clear, differentiated, and consistent narratives and supporting assets that define HP and its business priorities. 

  • Oversee development and maintenance of key assets supporting HP’s evolving corporate narrative. 

External Corporate Communications 

  • Lead external engagement for key corporate topics and milestones related to HP Inc. and its leadership.  

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with top-tier media and industry influencers that are important to the HP Inc. organization and its business interests. 

  • Drive proactive and reactive media outcomes that advance HP’s competitive position through both traditional and non-traditional media channels. 

  • Drive earned- and owned-media storytelling for corporate storylines.   

  • Establish and drive an internal and external program to support HP’s CEO.  

Financial Communications 

  • Work in close partnership with Investor Relations to oversee earned media activities related to HP Inc.’s investment case to financial audiences. 

Corporate Reputation Insights & Measurement 

  • Coordinate efforts to build and maintain a next-generation reputation intelligence system that uses leading-edge technology to monitor the media environment, track HP’s position in its competitive environment, and create insights that drive high-ROI execution. 

Team Leadership, Strategic Advisor, & Agency Management 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing counsel on positioning, messaging, and reputation. 

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. 

  • Help improve team effectiveness through process optimization, tools, and ROI/measurement frameworks. 

  • Manage agency partners to deliver high-quality, scalable outcomes. 

  • Explore and leverage emerging channels and AI-driven communications approaches to extend reach and influence 

Education & Experience 

  • BA or BS in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration. 

  • 10+ years of work experience in communications, journalism, or marketing. 

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Ability to directly link communications strategies and activities to business results. 

  • Experience succeeding in a matrixed, global organization and lead through influence. 

  • Adept at storytelling through traditional and non-traditional media channels. 

  • Experience managing financial communications at a public company, including earnings and transactions. 

  • Superior writing and editing skills; strong oral communications skills and ability to distill and convey complex ideas. 

  • Superior organizational skills and program management skills within a fast-paced and demanding environment. 

  • The ability to focus on results and details simultaneously, in a high-pressure environment. 

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the company, including senior management. 

  • Flexible, agile, and able to thrive within an organization undergoing transformation. 

  • Experience using AI tools to advance communications practices.  

  • Collaborative; strong track record of working well within a high-performing team.

The pay range for this role is $166,050 to $265,700 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
