We are looking for a Financial Technologies Intern. This position will be based at our New York City, NY area branch location.
During your time with us, you will have the opportunity as a member of the Treasury Team for Mobility in the Americas to immerse yourself with possibilities around financial/treasury topics (including guaranties and surety, cash management, foreign exchange, and insurance) as well as exposure to commercial topics such as bid preparation and ongoing project management.

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail infrastructure, and service (our “Business Units”). We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
How does Treasury play into the big picture?
The Treasury Team for Mobility Americas supports the Mobility Businesses Units with meeting financial/treasury needs around functions such as foreign exchange and liquidity management, insurance, and guaranties. Within the Treasury organization, we work with the Business Units throughout the project lifecycle from the pre-bid stage through project closure to manage requirements under the fields outlined above.
What you will do…
- Work with internal and external finance professionals and IT technical professionals through shadowing and the assignment of relevant tasks to build practical knowledge.
- Interface with different areas of the Treasury and Mobility organization and learn about how collaboration and teamwork drive success. Gain insight into Treasury/financial products and functions through technology-enabled process improvement, including exposure to guaranties/surety, Siemens applications and tools, data reconciliation, workflow support, AI tools such as Copilot/Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Who Should Apply?
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in the Information Technologies Field, Business (with a concentration in Business Analytics or Data Analysis preferred), Finance, or similar courses of study from an accredited college or university.
- Availability: This role is intended to begin in August / September 2026. The position is designed for a part‑time basis (minimum 12–16 hours/week) during the academic year with the possibility for a full-time intern position during Summer 2027.
During the academic year, the preferred schedule is 1-2 days per week onsite in our Midtown New York City office, with remote work opportunities possible based on business needs and individual schedules.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred)
- Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear process, data, or technology-enabled solutions.
- Must reside or go to school near the internship location in New York City area.
- Ideal for students seeking extended, hands‑on experience.

The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00 to $28.00, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute to our 401K program.
