Description
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated facilities professional to join our team and oversee facilities maintenance for Apple retail stores across the AMR West region.
Responsibilities
- Store Operations & Service Delivery: Serve as the primary facilities partner for AMR West retail stores, conducting bi-monthly on-site reviews to identify and resolve facilities issues.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Lead vendors in delivering cost-effective maintenance and emergency response, evaluating performance through regular check-ins and financial reviews.
- Project & Program Oversight: Guide contractors through store turnovers and provide actionable feedback to cross-functional partners to drive operational excellence.
- Budget & Financial Management: Own OpEx and CapEx budgets, forecasting, and contract negotiations—including competitive bidding and Scopes of Work (SOWs).
- Building & Systems Expertise: Maintain Apple's retail environments to the highest standards using your expertise in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and landscaping systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Development and Design teams to improve building functionality and inform material selection.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in construction or facilities management, with a demonstrated focus on maintaining and delivering exceptional retail stores, workplaces, and/or critical environments.
- Deep expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and executing technical services required to maintain and improve buildings — including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire alarm, janitorial, landscaping, flooring, lighting, furniture, warehousing, pest control, interior plants, and call-center services.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working across all levels of an organization and a proven ability to handle customer service challenges in a professional and constructive manner.
- Demonstrated experience building and sustaining relationships with facility operations teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural and design firms, and general contracting firms.
- Must be centrally located near a major hub of assigned retail stores, with the ability to conduct on-site visits a minimum of twice per month.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive Preventive Maintenance plans and the tools needed to monitor them effectively.
- Strong judgment in balancing operational risk and investment, consistently pursuing the highest quality and design at the best value.
- Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve maintenance issues, including experience prioritizing repairs and directing resources efficiently.
