Data Scientist II
Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist, you will work on developing data-driven solutions to improve Map and Location quality. You will combine statistical methods, machine learning, and analytical thinking to create impactful insights and tools.
In this role, you will:
- Build innovative solutions to measure and improve Map Quality using machine learning and statistical methods
- Act as a subject matter expert in statistical and experimental design for map and location quality testing processes
- Develop sampling strategies for map quality evaluation and for generating training data for ML models
- Define and implement statistical quality metrics to track and improve performance
- Design and develop data and computing tools to process data and analyze results at scale
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions
- Communicate findings and insights through presentations and written materials, including white papers
Qualifications
A degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quality Management Systems, or a related field
Around 0.5–3 years of relevant professional experience
Understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques, including classification and predictive analytics
Knowledge of statistical sampling methods and experimental design
Experience working with programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, or Matlab
Working knowledge of SQL
Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to analyzing data
Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to collaborate in a team environment and contribute to shared outcomes
Good organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
