Client Partner, Uber Advertising Japan
About the role and team
Uber Advertising division spearheads the growth of our advertising business by building a suite of products that enable brands to reach highly engaged users across our Mobility and Delivery platforms. Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. As a Client Partner, you will be responsible for building new partnerships with our largest brands, acting as a strategic advisor in a fast-changing environment where the answers aren’t always predefined.
This role is for those who are resilient and energized by the messy reality of doing big things at scale. You will face the challenge of constant change and must move with urgency to respond to the needs of partners who depend on us. Success here requires an owner mindset, the grit to handle tough negotiations, and the adaptability to thrive even when priorities shift unexpectedly.
Your Impact in Role:
- Execute ads partnership strategies that deliver on partner marketing objectives and exceed quarterly growth goals while navigating internal complexity.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with C-level marketing executives by understanding what matters most to their business, not just selling a product.
- Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities to unlock value for clients, identifying patterns to improve how we support our community at scale.
- Collaborate across Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to shape proposals, resolve blockers, and deliver solutions that scale.
- Communicate the value of new advertising products creatively and stay resilient through tough conversations and the inevitable “no.”
- Own your work end-to-end, from developing pitch narratives to being the voice of the customer in future product roadmaps.
The Experience You’ll Bring:
- At least 4 years of full-time experience in end-to-end Enterprise or Large Customer Digital Advertising Sales.
- Experience selling net-new partnerships and driving business development.
- Proficiency in both direct and programmatic digital media.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent Japanese and Business level English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at a high-growth tech platform or digital publication.
- Proven ability to use data and insights to quantify opportunities and influence decision-makers.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and a "go-get-it" attitude in ambiguous environments.
