
Cell Materials Engineering Technician, Cell Engineering
Description
We are seeking a Cell Materials Engineering Technician to join a cross functional cell engineering team. In this role, the technician will perform chemical analysis and materials characterization while supporting battery materials R&D and engineering projects. The position requires hands-on work in a chemistry lab environment, including operation of analysis instruments, coin cell fabrication, and cell testing.
Responsibilities
- Operate chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments to deliver results to the engineering team
- Prepare chemical and material samples for analysis and evaluation
- Fabricate standard electrodes for material level coin cell testing
- Build and test coin cells, three electrode cells, and pouch cells
- Document sample preparation processes and analysis results in an organized manner
Requirements
- Report process or lab issues and support identification of solutions
- Maintain lab organization and perform routine upkeep tasks
- Safely handle hazardous materials
- Operate XRD, TGA, FTIR, PSA, BET, and SEM instruments
- Perform wet slurry processing and electrode fabrication
- Conduct cell fabrication and testing
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Experience working with air sensitive materials or battery materials
- Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools

Expected Compensation
$20.22 - $55.86/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
