Then come and join our global team as Category Head (f/m/d) Services & Goods / Real Estate | Strategic Procurement.

As Category Head (f/m/d), you will be responsible for the global strategic management and value creation of your categories, including Marketing & Communication Services, Advisory and Professional Services, Events & Fairs, Real Estate & Facility Management Services, as well as Office & Factory Supplies. In addition, you will oversee further strategic procurement categories and help shape their future direction through the continued development of category management and operating models.

In this leadership role, you will manage globally distributed teams of Strategic Buyers and Commodity Managers, oversee an international spend volume, and work closely with key stakeholders to define the long-term direction of category strategies. You will ensure their effective implementation and sustainable impact across regions and business units worldwide.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will take global end-to-end responsibility for the procurement strategy, performance, and value creation of the Services & Goods and Real Estate categories, including governance, prioritization, and roadmap planning.
  • You will lead globally distributed teams of Strategic Buyers and Commodity Managers, providing both disciplinary and functional leadership while continuously advancing organizational capabilities, team competencies, and collaboration models.
  • In close partnership with international stakeholders, you will develop and refine global commodity strategies, including sourcing models, supplier landscapes, contract and pricing strategies, and supplier relationship management approaches.
  • You will drive the global implementation of these strategies across regions and business units, ensuring sustainable adoption through effective change management, communication, and capability-building initiatives. In doing so, you will monitor relevant KPIs and provide regular updates to management.
  • You will collaborate closely with senior decision-makers across functions, balancing diverse interests and facilitating informed decision-making.
  • You will be responsible for strategic supplier and contract management, establishing long-term partnerships, mitigating risks, managing escalations, and fostering innovation and sustainable value contribution.
  • You will ensure measurable outcomes in cost optimization, risk management, service quality, sustainability, and resilience, while creating transparency through KPI-driven global performance management.
  • You will further develop standards, methodologies, and best practices in strategic procurement and support preparations for the deconsolidation process.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You have successfully completed a degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Law, Economics, or a comparable field.
  • You bring many years of professional experience in Strategic Procurement and/or Category Management, including a strong background in the procurement of indirect materials and services. Furthermore you can demonstrate a proven track record within global and complex commodity environments. Experience in the PUC environment is an advantage.
  • You bring many years of people leadership experience in international matrix organizations and have successfully built, developed, and managed teams. In addition, you have a proven track record of leading large teams as well as managing and developing team leads.
  • You possess in-depth expertise in commodity strategy development, modern sourcing approaches, complex negotiations, and supplier and stakeholder management at management level.
  • You have successfully led global transformation and rollout initiatives and are experienced in governance structures, KPI-based performance management, as well as risk and escalation management.

  • You actively drive change, engage stakeholders around common goals, and successfully guide teams through transformation.
  • You demonstrate integrity and accountability and maintain a strong commitment to compliance and data privacy standards in a global business environment.
