Bid Leader – Data Centres

Australia’s data centre market is growing at an unprecedented pace, and Siemens is playing a key role in powering the infrastructure behind the digital economy. Through our Electrification & Automation business, we deliver advanced power distribution, automation, digitalisation and energy solutions that help hyperscale, colocation and enterprise customers build resilient, sustainable and high-performing data centres.

We’re looking for an experienced Bid Leader to take ownership of complex data centre bids across Australia and help turn major opportunities into successful projects.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll sit at the intersection of Sales, Engineering and Project Delivery, shaping winning strategies and bringing together the people, technology and commercial thinking needed to deliver compelling proposals.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the bid process from opportunity qualification through to submission and handover, with responsibility for:

  • Leading end-to-end bids for complex data centre opportunities, managing multiple submissions and competing deadlines.
  • Partnering with Sales to develop winning strategies, positioning, differentiators and value propositions.
  • Bringing teams together, coordinating Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Finance and Project Delivery inputs.
  • Developing technically robust and commercially competitive proposals that showcase Siemens’ capabilities.
  • Working across MV switchgear, integrated power systems and digital solutions to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Driving clarity around scope, interfaces, assumptions, risks and commercial requirements.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition from bid to project delivery, setting projects up for successful execution.
  • Using market and competitive insights to improve win rates and strengthen future bids.
  • Helping standardise bid processes, templates and tools to support a growing data centre pipeline.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced bid, proposal or commercial professional who enjoys working in complex, fast-moving environments.

  • Experience in bid management, proposals or commercial management within complex infrastructure or electrical projects.
  • Strong exposure to data centres, utilities or other mission-critical environments.
  • Understanding of MV/LV electrical systems and EPC delivery models.
  • Strong commercial capability across pricing, contracts and risk.
  • The ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline is preferred.

What will make you successful?

You’re someone who takes ownership and enjoys winning.

You can move comfortably between strategic conversations with Sales and customers and the detail required to deliver a high-quality submission.

You’ll bring:

  • A commercial and strategic mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to understand what matters to the client.
  • The drive to continuously improve how we approach and deliver bids.

Industry experience

·       Experience across the Australian data centre ecosystem — including hyperscale, colocation, Tier 1 contractors or mission-critical engineering — will be highly regarded.

Why Siemens?

You’ll join a business that is helping shape one of Australia’s fastest-growing infrastructure markets.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on major data centre projects, collaborate with leading industry players and contribute to solutions that are critical to the digital economy.

We genuinely value our people and are committed to their wellbeing, growth and development. You’ll enjoy additional leave, dedicated time for personal development and the support of a high-performing, collaborative team.

Our commitment to you

Siemens is committed to an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, develop and succeed. We value diversity and strive to create a safe, supportive environment where everyone feels respected and heard.

If you require any reasonable accommodations or adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.
