The Amazon Aviation Security (AvSec) team is seeking an Aviation Security Manager to lead a new air cargo compliance program. In this role, you will lead a team of examination officers and oversee compliance with Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) requirements, Dangerous Goods handling, and a quality assurance program. This is a unique opportunity in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where your leadership will directly influence the success of Amazon's air network.

1. Sun - Wed 23:00 - 09:00
2. Wed - Sat 23:00 - 09:00

Key job responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, develop, and support a team of examination officers and Operations team
  • Build strong relationships across operations, fostering a culture of security awareness, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Review volume forecasts and determine operational staffing requirements to meet business demand
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners — including Operations, Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources — to accomplish shared objectives
  • Participate in partner team meetings to drive operational consistency across the network
Compliance & Security Operations
  • Ensure full compliance with Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) security program requirements and corporate policies
  • Conduct regular audits and security assessments to verify adherence to security procedures and regulatory standards
  • Oversee Dangerous Goods classification and handling compliance
  • Apply industry and Amazon best practices for the secure handling and transportation of air cargo
  • Clearly communicate security policies and procedures to partner teams, providing awareness and guidance
  • Identify vulnerable processes and systems, and provide expert advice and support for security risk remediation
  • Enhance, track, and report on key performance metrics
A day in the life
  • Provide supervisory and tactical management in an area with defined procedures and workflows
  • Conduct audits and security assessments to ensure compliance
  • Facilitate successful outcomes for customers
  • Recommend improvements to tools and procedures
  • Apply industry and Amazon best practices for the secure transportation of air cargo
  • Support operational teams from a regulatory and security perspective
  • Report and manage risks
  • Support crisis management planning and emergency response
  • Support investigations of regulatory violations and mitigate risk
  • Support a single facility, develop team members, and help leadership by managing problems and escalating roadblocks
About the team
The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance (AvSec) team is responsible for air cargo security and regulatory compliance at Amazon. The team is committed to identifying and mitigating risk to people, Amazon's assets, Amazon's brand, and regulatory standing. Our programs — spanning risk mitigation and continuous improvement — are built on the foundation of a robust security culture, where diligence, integrity, and operational excellence guide everything we do.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role
  • Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Experience in relevant industries such as law, customer service, investigations or project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques
  • Experience working in risk/fraud analysis or in compliance organizations
