As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Driving the efficient delivery of Google’s Data Center Portfolio through direct leadership of construction project planning and scheduling for complex campuses and buildings across a large geographic area. In this role, you will be required to support setup and delivery of planning and scheduling that drives value by delivering critical facilities at speed. Your knowledge of construction project planning and ability to drive efficient delivery approaches will be key to ensure projects are delivered on time that meet our business needs.

You will lead, collaborate, and communicate with our tier one and two supply chain to create compliant and efficient schedules that meet the business objective and serve as effective planning tools that guide daily, weekly and monthly tasks.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage schedules that support data center project execution.
  • Lead planning and scheduling implementation with our General Contractors and Managed Service Suppliers.
  • Partner with Project Managers and work directly with project teams to support schedule implementation including setup, training, execution and assurance.
  • Drive schedule acceleration analyses and identify opportunities for faster schedules.
  • Direct engagement in schedule review and negotiations with the Main/Sub Contracts with regard to achieving alignment and acceptance of a common plan.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Industrial Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience working with technical construction programs/projects.
  • 5 years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, or field roles.
  • Experience with cost management, cost planning and estimation, negotiation, project procurement.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in data center construction.
