Sr. Data Analyst, Falcon NG-SIEM (Hybrid)
As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
Our mission is to make all of our customers' security-relevant data continuously available for automated detection and response, threat hunting, and other Falcon platform use cases. To enable this, the systems behind NG-SIEM (next-generation security information and event management) are growing to accommodate >100 PB of event and action data ingested every day, up to 10 years of retention, and dozens of millions of queries per hour across large sections of the data stored, for tens of thousands of customers. As a Senior Data Analyst for the NG-SIEM Serverless Platform team, you will be responsible for modeling customer usage across domains, going from business plans to infrastructure purchase orders, tracking cost variables, determining what improvements would improve margins, or which investment can more efficiently improve an SLO.
You will support a group of highly skilled and passionate product managers, software engineers, and system engineers, as well as business leaders and finance stakeholders that work at and with NG-SIEM offering and systems. You will own building clear dashboards and reports for complex data sets such as cost structures for a wide portfolio, or growth forecasts for our hardware systems, as well as driving select projects to improve financial or SLO-related efficiencies. You will join a distributed team of high-ownership technical leaders who share a strong passion for our mission: to stop breaches. In this role, you will also get a chance to help on hard engineering problems that do not have well-defined solutions, and you will be expected to be proactive, thorough, and innovative in your space - and to drive business outcomes.
This is a hybrid opportunity, with the expectation to be in our Redmond, WA Office 2-3x a week.
What You’ll Do:
End-to-end ownership of the data pipelines pertaining to customer usage, business costs, infrastructure distribution, SLO status and contributions, from data collection, to defining or refining significant KPIs, to meaningful presentation, via dashboards, as well as recurring and ad-hoc reports.
Develop ETL jobs to gather data from multiple sources and provide insights into various product areas.
Collecting data into reporting and analytics systems and developing dashboards on top of them.
Interacting with many product groups within the organization, understanding business outcomes, and mapping those to data visibility and insights that to be developed
Inform today’s core business decisions by developing comprehensive models to forecast essential trends.
Take the lead on driving cross-team projects that improve efficiencies for core NG-SIEM drivers.
Develop automation so you can focus on additional refinement, not repeatable manual work.
What You'll Need:
Experience of architecting data pipelines - data ingestions, ETLs, reporting and visualizations;
Experience extracting data from large event data systems;
Experience using RDBMS databases, and accompanying knowledge of SQL;
Experience in building automated dashboards and recurring reports;
Experience in analyzing complex data sets to extract valuable information;
Experience in building prediction models to support business decision making;
Experience in distilling key KPIs and SLIs to drive outcomes;
Experience in driving cross-team projects that relate to improving the KPIs and SLIs;
Solid knowledge in data processing and analytics methodologies, including statistics and machine learning.
Bonus Points:
Experience in a similar role within a hyperscaler cloud company (AWS, Azure, GCP) or similar large-scale product/platform;
Successful track record of delivering business outcomes rooted in deep data analysis;
Good understanding of business and finance fundamentals;
Good understanding of cloud-native architectures and serverless computing paradigms;
Good understanding of computer science fundamentals;
Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence;
