Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. As the Senior Director of Trust & Safety, Trusted Experiences, your primary responsibility is to manage global teams that provide abuse protection and policy decision-support across Google’s Search, Gemini, and Geo products. Expertise from these teams is used to prevent abuse by influencing product design, driving analytical solutions, influencing consumer trust, and driving business impact and operational metrics to manage current and future abuse fighting operations. In this role, you will partner with many teams across Google, including Engineering, Product, and teams across Trust & Safety and Global Affairs. You'll synthesize large-scale system dynamics across global trends, geopolitics, legal, regulatory, and technical constraints. You'll also work globally across multiple offices and stakeholders and lead your team to get things done for Google, our users, and partners.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $304,000-$423,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Invest in and enable the team’s collective success, delivering on agreed business outcomes and building a cohesive, high-caliber organization.  
  • Partner with teams across Google and within Trust & Safety to maintain and further develop high trust products that are free of abuse and ensure we are solving to ensure our users and developers are safe through scalable, long-term design solutions.
  • Develop analytical excellence and technical capability throughout the team and help to influence product/policy development and abuse prevention.
  • Work with senior stakeholders across Google to develop impact metrics and strategy for both abuse prevention and developer experience and growth.
  • Influence Google cross-functional teams globally, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders and identifying operational efficiencies and synergies across organizational boundaries.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience working in the tech industry or a research, policy, legal, or large-scale operations field.
  • 10 years of experience as a people manager/leader addressing risk, fraud, abuse, trust, safety, privacy, or security issues, in addition to regular international travel and working across multiple regions and time zones.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's, PhD, MBA) in a related field (e.g., policy, analytical, technical, legal, operations management).
  • Experience managing multiple senior stakeholders and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Passionate about developing the team and providing leadership for direct and dotted line teams as well as the ability to integrate and bring teams together.
  • Excellent global leadership, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
