Apparel Authenticator
eBay is hiring an Apparel Authenticator for our New York area team. In this role, you will keep up to date with apparel industry trends, releases, and retailer collaborations, from streetwear to high fashion. You will authenticate apparel, spot manufacturer defects, assess wear, and inspect SKU and size. This ensures each buyer receives the best experience possible. Candidates should have experience detecting counterfeits and know how to confirm authenticity. While multi-brand experience is preferred, brand specialists will also be considered.
Schedule: 9am-6pm (Mon-Fri, 1hr lunch & 1 15min break)
Responsibilities:
Evaluate preloved and new products from major fashion brands to ensure their authenticity
Build and establish guidelines for apparel brands
Perform inspections to confirm the item’s description and condition
Report counterfeit items with succinct and specific findings
Stay proficient in current brand trends and developments
Achieve quality metrics and efficiency goals daily
Be comfortable in a fast-paced facility environment
Willingness to work in a warehouse environment
Requirements:
Experience in a related field required
Proven expertise in fashion with a strong passion for apparel
Analytical and problem-solving skills to research and address concerns
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility to evolving work-flows and responsibilities
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work autonomously
Capacity to work on your feet for several hours and lift 50 pounds as needed
Knowledge of standard operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, Slack, etc.
Must be over the age of 18 years old

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$31,600 - $53,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
